Do not go to Bridgeport Behavioral Health! Despite the impersonal and unprofessional staff (which includes Dr. Tanner) I took my child there because all of the other referrals I was given were booked for more than a month out. That should have been my first clue, but my child needed to be seen as soon as possible. Because Dr. Tanner did find a medication that proved helpful to my child, we continued to go there despite substandard service in all other regards. Then, just a few weeks after Dr. Tanner did a routine checkup with my child, I called and asked if Dr. Tanner could simply send in a new prescription without us having to drive all the way out to the clinic (a 45 minute drive both ways) and avoid the $35 copay since we had just been there a few weeks ago. I was told that Dr. Tanner would call me back. Instead she sent a nasty letter saying that since I was "disgruntled with her services..." she would be "resigning" as my child's provider. My husband and I were floored because at no point had we conveyed that, we were simply asking if a prescription could be called in! In light of how quick Dr. Tanner is to simply throw away clients without even speaking to them first, I would not recommend anyone give of their time and money to her establishment.
