After having my child at Brighton for a few years and shelling out over $20,000 for a "private education" I find out my child is not where they need to be academically. I found this out after transferring to a school that follows guidelines and laws in educating children. Although I was promised at Brighton that my child would be a grade level ahead, and I believed since my child brought home A's and high B's on interim reports and report cards that everything was going well. Even at the end of the year conference I was told everything was going well and there were no concerns. Also there are not many teachers that stay more than one or two years before deciding to leave. Some of the buildings have a musty smell to them and my child would come home smelling like the building. Also there is a PTA known as PAWS but parents have no access to any of the budget therefore there is no accountability for where the money goes. I have a problem with fundraising for the same thing for years and never seeing it materialize into anything. Another concern is home schooled students are legally required to go to school 180 days and parents are told that Brighton follows Paulding County School calendar but the school gets cancelled days that Paulding County attends class. The playground swings routinely break, there are tree branches on the playground that are a potential risk to children, and there were times my child was left in a room with a 13 year old as a teacher.

I am extremely happy with this school, the teachers and staff always have a smile on their face. Each and every student has a personal connection with the teachers. My child has learned so much and I'm very happy with Brighton. Brighton has a fun and engaging learning environment. The students aren't caught up but they are also ahead then many others. I have enjoyed my expirence and many more to come. I would recommend this school to everyone!

There are many things on the Brighton Private School website that are very misleading. For instance, Brighton is not a private school. Please do your research before making the decision to place your child at Brighton. I have been lied to for several years about some very important things. If you decide to take your child to Brighton, please investigate everything you are told and have your child tested periodically from someone qualified to evaluate your child's education level. Do not assume the child is doing great by what you are told or by the reports that are sent home. On a positive note, the owner and staff are very loving and friendly. But, in my experience, this was a tactic used to make me easy to deceive. Not all teachers are certified. Check the state website for your teachers certification, and be your childs advocate, this school is not accredited and answers to no one about following guidelines.

I am writing as a grand parent (Pippi) of a kindergarten student. There is no way to express how wonderful this school and the teachers are. My grand daughter has learned so very much this year and the concern and love shown to her along the way is astounding! Looking forward to her continuing years at Brighton!. Pam

Not sure where GAmommy was - But this place is GREAT! It is an old house - but that just gives it character! Teachers are awesome and really care about my child and what he is learning (which is A LOT!) I plan on putting my 2 year old daughter there next year and I highly recommend to everyone I meet!! The education my child is getting is great and I would never put my child anywhere else!

Both of my daughters have had the experience of being taught by Ms. Haynes. When school ended they knew how to write their names, the alphabet, vowels, sign language, counting by 5's. All of this and more just in Pre-K. The teachers are all wonderful and bring the world of learning alive for children. They go above and beyond - recently they had an Easter Egg Hunt. Over 500 eggs, our own personal Easter Bunny to have my children's picture taken with, and lots of food to eat. I have heard that some parents have tried other schools because they were closer to home, but they came right back to Brighton!!! They allow each child to learn on their own level which allows them to excel.

I love this school! My daughter has learned SO MUCH this last year. The teacher was an experienced kindergarten teacher so she knows what to teach. If you can get your child in here - Do it fast! I hope to get my younger daughter in there next year. Great school!
