I've been in the restaurant business for 11 years now. After deciding that I wanted to go back to school, I stopped by the Bucks County School of Bartending and had a one-on-one with the John (the co-owner). John made me feel completely comfortable. Before we even started talking about the school, he asked me why I wanted to be a bartender and more importantly explained the pros and cons of being one. After about an hour of conversation he explained how the school actually works and I was sold. The school itself looks like a full running bar aside from the fact that they serve no alcohol. Have no fear though because Denise, the other co-owner and the head instructor at the school, makes sure that all of the bottles looks exactly like what they're supposed to. The whiskey is brown, all the puckers are the color they're supposed to be and they have more than 50 bottles behind the bar so you can not only familiarize yourself with the colors of the alcohol but also the bottles themselves. They also have soda guns with juice, soda, and even red bull!!!! The classes are very casual. Not only did they offer everyone time to practice making drinks but after we completed the class we were given an opportunity to go to a real bar and practice making them for guests. Denise also spent a great deal explaining other aspects of the business: how to flag people, proper ways for carding, appropriate ways to handle situations, and much much more. They even offer TIPS certifications for an additional $75. TIPS is a nationally recognized certification for responsible alcohol service. I took the class and did the TIPS certification. All-in-all it was well worth it. I got a job within a week of completing the class. If your looking for a bartending school that cares more about its integrity and students than they do about money (like other schools that tried to charge me $600 dollars and didn't even offer a degree) I strongly recommend your check out the Bucks County School of Bartendi

I would definitely recommend this school to everyone! It was affordable, they were flexible about my paying arrangements , and they asked me to start bartending at their bar right after bartending school. I got my experience and they were both VERY NICE people! When things didn't work out at their bar (due to distance) Denise (the main teacher) Called me and told me about some local jobs that were hiring. Not only was I gone but she cared and still helped me look for a job. The classes were fun and now I love my job!

I recently graduated from the bucks county school of bartending in Bensalem and I am already working\ras a bartender in Newtown--making about $200. per night. I absolutely loved everyone over there (Denise,John,Diane,Tony & Julia)! The education was top notch professional and so much fun. After graduation we all went down to their bar and had real practice making drinks for my friends and family. It was the first time I ever saw my mom drunk! A friend of mine graduated from another school said that\rhe ""didn't learn a thing."" I feel quite the opposite. I actually have taught the so called experienced bartenders that I work with a few things. Before deciding on a school I would check these guys out! The facility is exactly like a real bar. One school I went to downtown was cheaper, but it was dirty and didn't have running water--bucks county had it all!

I would not recommend this place to anyone! I filled out the contact form online and I got a call but I was cut off a few times because my cell phone has been giving me trouble! So the guy calls back and curses me off on my voicemail. He says that he only got my info from me which is right and that I shouldn't hang up on him like an a&%hole. Incredible that a bussiness would leave this message on my phone, I couldnt believe it!!!! I saved, if you would like to hear it, give me a call. I am thinking about calling the news!
