I called because of a large hole forming in my front yard. Michael asked me a bunch of questions and figured out over the phone and email that the problem was with the city sewer line that runs under my yard. He spent all kinds of time helping me figure out I didn't need to hire them. He was patient and friendly.

Did a lot of research trying to find a company that thad a lot of experience with removing pools and found C&M. They answered all my questions and took time to look at all areas of the yard and driveway that would be affected by the traffic and weight of the dump trucks. We totally removed the pool, including all the concrete and plumbing, filled it in, and covered the area with sod. I really like that they stamp the dirt down with a special piece of machinery, so that there is much less chance of settling. They took care not to damage any existing landscaping and they cleaned everything up, so you'd never know they'd been there. I felt they were very honest in providing an estimate and identifying areas where the cost could change once they got into it and they better understood what they were dealing with. They really do have a lot of experience removing pools (which they consider as sinkholes). I'd heard war stories of pool removals turning into nightmares as area around the pools collapsed, serious settling occurred when the fill dirt wasn't compacted correctly, damage to landscaping and driveways from the dump trucks, etc. C&M's experience and professionalism made this a stressless experience for me. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remove pool and I will use them in the future for other projects.

Hired C&M Residential to build an arbor/pergola on our existing deck. Michael Staley came out on a few occasions to hear what we wanted and provided lots of great information. He came back with a few options and proposals. Michael provided an estimate, not a solid quote, but I was pleased that the final price came in less than $100 off from his quote. The arbor turned out even better than we hoped and it looks great. We plan to have them back for additional work later this year. Definitely recommend C&M for any outdoor work you need done.

Michael Staley, of C&M, is extremely thorough and conscientious. We had a builder's pit in our front yard that was effecting our front porch. Not only did he listen to what we wanted but also presented his ideas. He laid out a plan (pit, porch, lawn, irrigation, sidewalk) and deviated only when necessary. The team that worked the pit pulled out some 20 - 25 tree trunks/root systems. They filled the hole back up using a trench compactor. The carpenters, upon discovery and it was obvious, told us the porch was not correctly attached to the house. It could not simply be raised back into position. It had to be removed and a new one constructed. We thoroughly concurred. Each stage of the project was billed separately and payment was made when completely satisfied. The patience and meticulous nature of each team was evident in how they approached their job. And when it became necessary for any one team to come back for "adjustment/tweaking" there was no hesitation. We had a lot done, but in the end we are completely satisfied, our curb appeal increased 100% and we will be using them again.

We chose C&M to replace our original driveway and walkway mainly because their bidding process went beyond the driveway/walkway to point out the need for storm water drainage at the driveway and the foundation. The original driveway had become a roller coaster caused by many years of existing next to a very large bull pine. After the tree was taken out, C&M corrected the drainage problems, replaced the driveway and walkway, planted lovely shrubs, and the results are very satisfying. Each team that came out was very efficient. We highly recommend C&M!

Have used C&M for various projects throughout the past 1.5 years. Have, on occasion, foolishly tried other providers to save a couple of bucks, but always end up coming back to C&M whenever I need it done right. Very professional!

We've used C&M for many years to take care of both large scale and smaller landscape projects. They built 2 large and attractive retaining walls on difficult terrain that will probably last longer than the house. C&M workers are always skilled, reliable and very hard working guys. We get good advice from Mike, detailed estimates and a thorough explanation of all the factors in each job. We're happy to recommend C&M for stonework, planting and yard care.
We have used C&M Landscape 3 different times following a neighbor's recomendation and the results have results have always been above expectations. We have had a pool removed and the backyard relandscaped, the front yard repaired and a drainage problem solved. They have done an outstanding job and I highly recommend them
C&M Residential did an outstanding job on my backyard. I had an old wood deck that needed to be replaced and a backyard that was in major need of a complete overhaul. C&M removed the old deck, fixed a sink huge sinkhole and added a beautiful concrete patio and new cedar deck. Their crew is professional, courteous and always cleaned up the site each day. The results are wonderful and everyone who has seen their work loves the transformation to this beautiful outdoor living space. I would definitely recommend C&M for this type of work!

C&M cleaned out a large debris pit that extended underneath a swimming pool built by the previous owner. They were creative in their approach, professional in their work and left the yard clean. The landscaping plan they executed over the repaired earth looks great and makes my wife happy.

We had C&M come out to give us an estimate on a sinkhole. They charged us $100 just to give an estimate. They also refused to give a firm estimate because they don't want to take on any of the risk that the hole is larger than they expect and would rather place that risk on the customer. The proposed contract terms are ridiculous and extremely one-sided in favor of C&M and to the detriment of the customer. The contract even permits them to charge you for time that they aren't on the jobsite for things like refueling, loading equipment, travel time, etc. On top of charging for all of this, they also want to charge you for every piece of equipment that they bring out and each piece has substantial daily charges associated with it. Their pitch tries to play up your fears that the hole is going to get worse and worse and they try to emphasize that nothing short of digging up the entire hole will work properly. In our case, we got an estimate from another company that was much, much lower than what they provided and was a firm estimate that the company would actually stick to, unlike these guys. C&M's proposal and policies definitely made us feel more like a mark that they were trying to gouge for as much money as possible than like a valued customer.

We have many hundreds of satisfied sinkhole customers! We charge consultation fees to look at sink holes when the customers are outside of our primary service area. We have specialized in sink hole repair work since the 1990s solely as a result of their being so many sink holes/debris pits in our primary work area which is Cobb County. The reason that our contract terms include charging for off site time is because we are asked to perform such work both within our service area and well outside of it and we refined our rates to accommodate. There is no way to be sure of the scope of work with such projects because the depth of sink holes can not be determined without expensive efforts being taken. We do not provide estimates for sink holes. Some are very small and some are large. Having looked at well over 1500 of them and repaired over 300 I am still only able to speculate about the size and expense of each job that I look at. We fix sink holes correctly and stand behind it. We see many sink holes fixed incorrectly. I am happy to share my experience with people that call about such problems. Buried debris will continue to decompose, lose volume and cause further settling so when I tell potential customers what they can expect if they leave the buried debris in place it is a certainty. We certainly aren't doing any fear based marketing and I have no idea how someone can claim that we are overpriced when they didn't hire us to perform the work as we may very well have been able to fix their problem for less than spent with another contractor. If you have questions about anything related to a sinking or settling situation, feel free to get in touch with me. Michael Staley, President. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Did an excellent job fixing a huge developers sinkhole in my front yard. I had the same crew for the entire job and they were very professional and courteous. They went out of their way to make sure not to disturb any of my utilities which all ran thru the center of the hole. I would highly recommend them.

Our front porch has been sinking over the years. Brendan provided us with a consultation and was very thorough in his explanation of what work would be done to support the porch. The entire staff kept in touch with us throughout the process prior to, during, and after the job was completed. The carpentry staff got to work on the two-day project and it was quite obvious they knew what they were doing. Our front porch is finally level and definitely won't be sinking again. This company is top-notch with knowledgable, professional employees. We highly recommend C & M Residential for any work. You will not be disappointed.

Sinkholes, we had three ... Big ones. C&M handled the problems (one was 30 feet deep!) and kept us informed and "part of the team" throughout. Because of how they handled the sinkholes, we contracted the, for a new driveway and walk, front landscaping and a patio. They rebuilt an aging, poorly designed sprinkler system. C&M was always professional and on time, from the designer to the foreman to the crew. Also, C&M communicated with me as I needed, via email, text and cell, accommodating my travel schedule. We will not undertake any exterior work without calling them. Excellent experience.
