Low quality sump pump results in basement flood., 2/15/2010

In January 2009 my husband and I contracted this company to waterproof our basement. In January 2010 our basement flooded due to the failure of the sump pump that was installed by this company. On... the day of the flood my husband called 2 phone numbers that were given to us, the first was the agent who sold us the product - the other was the company number as listed above. Neither call was returned. I contacted the company on 2/11/2010. My call was returned by Mr. Jesse O. Waltz, president of the company. He was rude and nasty from the beginning of the call to the end. He said that he returns all calls - insinuating that I am a liar. He said the pump did not fail, as my husband "jiggled" it and it then began working. He was not the least bit concerned that our entire basement had flooded soaking, among other things, a newly installed carpet. He said the pump was warranted for 1 year only. It's true our pump was 10 days past the warranty service. This man had no intention of helping us. He has no regard for customer service. He should at the very least replaced the defective sump pump. Also the contract stated that: "The Work is covered by C-Atlantic's Warranty. A Warranty Certificate will be issued upon full payment after a short processing time. There will be no warranty unless C-Atlantic is paid in full." Our account was paid in full as of 3/21/09 and we have not yet received any warranty certificate. The public needs to know the truth about this company.
