Back in December I contacted Chris after viewing the reviews on Kudzu as well as his website. He was able to design and renovate our bathroom over the Christmas Holidays which was perfect for us as... we weren't entertaining and could move down to our finished basement temporarily while the work was being done. We came in a little over the budget I had originally anticipated because the design we eventually chose involved changing the footprint of the original bath , resulting in moving a lot of plumbing and electrical around. However, we were more than thrilled with the result. It is better than we ever dreamed. It is beautiful and is such a wonderful use of space, providing an extreme amount of storage, function and natural light. David, the guy who layed the stone work on the floor and in the shower, is nothing short of an artist and the cabinets are absolutely beautiful. Chris definitely has good taste which is why I allowed myself to spend a little more than I intended. We even decided to have our guest bath and our powder room redone as well, but for those we just did new stone floors, cabinets and countertops. All were done well, and everything was basically finished in 4 weeks. We did have to wait a little longer for our new windows in the master but it was fully functioning while we waited. All in all it was a pleasurable experience working with Chris and all of his crew. They were all a pleasure to be around.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I would first off like to say thank you for a job well done. As I promised over a year ago I would leave a good recommendation. One of the thing that we liked about your company was the passion you... had for our bathroom when you met with us. I looked online at various contractors on the web , some of the work was ok average at best. We liked what we saw on your website and you went through the projects and showed us videos which I thought was very impressive. You have great communication skills and I like the fact that you got to us promptly and your guys actually showed up everyday , sometimes to early for my liking but you were very punctual. So thank you again for making the experience a good one.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I own a beautiful home in Northern Buckhead. We met with two other contractors who quoted us a ridiculous pricing for a master bath and I really believe they looked at the neighborhood and though they hit pay dirt. They were wrong. We met with Cer and from the beginning they asked us a series of questions and listened to what we wanted. Chris gave us a ball park quote to get what we wanted done. I told him if he believed he could get it done for that we had a deal and we shook hands. The tile work is beyond what I thought , Jorge really is a crafts man. The fixtures are beautiful and the cabinets are of very very quality. We are very pleased with our experience with Chris. He really did a great job. Will be having him come back to do other projects in the future.
We found CER Custom Renovations on Houzz and reached out to Chris for an initial consultation, along with several other businesses. Not only was Chris the first and quickest to contact us, he set up a meeting with us for the next day. He listened to us and explained this would move fast and he wasn't kidding. We were ready to renovate our mid century modern house to have a modern, bright kitchen and a serene, spa-like bathroom and he and his expert team delivered! He has a great team of craftsman in each field of expertise that were wonderful and Chris was very available when we needed to discuss plans throughout the process. He would call, email or visit as needed. Needless to say, we are very happy with the end result. Thanks so much to CER! We will be in contact again when we remodel other parts of the house.
CER came out to look at our deck that was completely worn out to say the least. It had not been painted and sealed properly and was an eyesore. We asked for ideas on what we could build from scratch to be able to entertain regularly. CER was able to give us a few options that fit our budget and definitely gave the back of the house some appeal we were seriously lacking. We have received several compliments and are very grateful to CER for giving us something to be proud of!
Mr Portsman it was our pleasure to work with you and your wife. I trust you guys got a chance to use that space over the holiday weekend. Im sorry I coukdnt make it for your gathering as you know I was traveling for the 4th. Thanks again for the referal to Dennis we are working out his details as we speak. Thanks again for allowing us the opportunity. C.Riley
We were pleased with the built-in cabinets for our kitchen. CER listened to the style envisioned and delivered quality cabinets taking it to the next level without compromising our vision! We are so happy, we are now preparing to create the study we have always wanted. Thank you CER Custom Renovations! We will be coming back near the end of the year for our study.
I am so glad that you allowed me to express the vision for your cabinets. You guys have great taste and vision. I am glad we were able to create the vision you wanted. Thank you again for everything. C. Riley
We had our basement finished by CER Custom Renovations and were very pleased with the work. It did take a little longer than originally planned or expected but in all fairness, it was to our benefit as there were unexpected issues that existed with our basement that could not be seen until it was uncovered during the demolition phase. We were immediately notified of the existing damage and given options to rectify it and move forward with the project. Of course we could have asked for a bandaid fix but that would have caused more problems later. Chris did his best to minimize the repair cost while still keeping quality material and workmanship and not to mention still keep our original project scope within budget. If we had any questions or concerns, we were given a return call within 24 hrs. We would recommend CER because we feel good ethics, professionalism, and quality of work is what they exemplify.
On behalf of CER Custom Renovations we would like to say thank you so much for choosing us. It really brings joy to have a satisfied client. Your basement space looks incredible, I hope that you and your famiky enjoys it for years to come. Thanks again for your business C.Riley
We hired CER Renovation to remodel our kitchen, master bathroom, closet and secondary bath back in Nov of 2012. At the time, Chris said the project would take about 2 months. It ended up with 5 months. We were supposed to get handmade kitchen cabinets but we got something already made in China. It was hard to get a hold of Chris. Nothing was done timely and a lot of things they have to redo few times. Master closet was absolutely not worth the money he charged. He knew we were not happy with him. He didn't even show up to collect the last payment. He told us to give the check to the "finisher". What a terrible experience. Absolutely will not use or recommend him.
We regret that you feel disappointed with the renovations to your home. At CER Custom Renovations, we guarantee quality work and customer fulfillment. Therefore, we try to complete projects using the highest standard within a reasonable time frame. Nonetheless, I am sure that you can understand fluctuating prices and delivery times can cause delays in completion. In regards to the cabinets, we create custom designed cabinets and before we installed anything, we discussed and showed samples to you and your husband for your approval and you were delighted with the samples.
However, some of our materials come from outside distributors. Further, we take extra care in making sure that everything is properly functioning to avoid hazards. We’re available to discuss any open items and to rectify and matters which you may which to discuss. Given another opportunity, we will follow through to ensure that you are ultimately satisfied with your project. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
My neighbor hired Chris to finish a basement in their home and after seeing the work we were really impressed. I called Chris and he came over right away to give an estimate which was pretty reasonable and fair. He completed our outdated bath within a timely manor and lt looks great. His crews were professional and very pleasant and neat. To my surprise he had a professional cleaning crew come in after all work was done which was a nice touch. Thanks Betty for the recommendation and thank you Christopher for the great work.
Mrs Lexman first off thanks so much for the great review. It was a pleasure to work with you and your family. I have posted pics of your project on our kudzu page. We are so proud of what was done for you. Thank you again
My name is Gary Ostend and my partner and I hired Christopher Riley to renovate our 1920s Inman Park home. From the initial consultation we were very impressed. Chris was well dressed well groomed very smooth and confident , very very knowledgable about different products we did research on. His rendering was remarkable and exactly what we wanted. The cabinets he builds are truly amazing , although we did have one issuer with one he took care of it right away. I must admit that Emily is a hard sell and can be difficult to please and she knows this, however Christopher went above and beyond to make her happy which in turn made me happy. There were a lot of hurdles that were a little discouraging to us as we are not used to dealing with these issues , but Chris was there to see them through and offer solutions. I know that no one is perfect and there were some things that drove us nuts with one of his subs but other than that I cannot say we not happy with this young man , very impressive and has a bright future. Chris as promised this is your reward for a Job well done. Thanks again.
Gary its always a pleasure to have a satisfied client. We work so hard to please our clients. I thank you for being patient with us in getting through the hang ups that occur during a renovation. Emily is certainly a tough cookie but to see her smile was so well worth it. Thank you again for the opportunity ad please enjoy your new space.
I hired Chris after getting 2 other estimates. I liked his confident attitude immediately. My home is around 12 years old and the master bath needed a facelift. Chris knew exactly where I should apply the budget to get the most "band for my buck". His proposal and contract were very detailed. He understood I didn't want to go above my budget and worked with me. Chris is a "Quality" contractor and his people do very detailed quality work. They are all pleasant to work with and very professional. The project schedule was extended a bit, but he finished on the absolute end date. His schedule was tight to begin with, so I was not upset at all. The end product exceeded my expectations. I am a very detailed person, so I did get very involved in the design and material acquisition. The best part of working with Chris was his immediate response to what ever issue I was having. We did have a few issues along the way, but what project doesn't? I never felt at risk for having the issue ignored. A great experience overall!
Tracy I just wanted to say thank you first of all for selecting us to do your project. It warms my heart to have a satisfied client. It was really great working with you and your master bath is truly fabulous. Thank you again for the opportunity and we wish you the best. C. Riley
Initially we met Christopher after meeting with several other contractors that we really didn't feel a connection with. From the start we were a little skeptical because we talked for over two hours and he took no notes or did any measuring. He gave us a list of inventory we needed to purchase and to our surprise is was more detailed list than the other contractor who spent 30 min or so measuring every little thing so we knew he was our guy. He sent over the next day a 4 page proposal with all of the details we talked about and few options we didn't . Our master bath project was underway. Everybody that came into our home was very pleasant professional cleaned up everyday and worked long hours. Victor the project manager was excellent in his communication skills and set our minds at ease. Our house was built in 1930 but our new bath is better than any 5 star in Vegas or the Caribbean , we know because we love to travel. We are beyond happy with what was done and will use Christopher again and have already referred him to a friend.
Jessica wow thanks so much for this awesome review. Your bath is one truly unique space. We were delighted to work with you and Ryan you guys are great. Thanks for the referral again and please let us know when you are ready for the other work that we discussed. C. Riley
We hired Christopher to totally renovate our 1950's home in Buckhead. Christopher had great ideas and seemed to be very confident as to what could be done. Our renovation included three baths a kitchen hardwoods and detailed millwork. The cabinets he designed and fabricated were very high quality exactly what we wanted. The baths came out very lovely and the tile work is top knotch. We loved that Christopher was responsive and had great communication. The project did extend past our completion date but the guys did put in long hours to get us completed. Over we are happy with the service and the end product. I would use their services again.
Hi Betty how are you ! You are truly wonderful and such a sweet person and you were a gift to work with. Thank you thank you thank you for the opportunity. Client like you make me love more and more what I do for a living. I'm truly blessed. C. Riley
I live in a 1960's house with a "hollywood" shower, which means the tub and shower are shared between two bathrooms. Both sets of doors were leaking through the tracks and needed to be replaced. We were also concerned about whether the tub had "settled", making this problem worse. After multiple calls (6), we stopped trying to engage Chris for this work. To be fair, we did make an appointment with him, but had to cancel when my husband had a conflict. Four calls later, however, we had no success in getting Chris to respond to us to reschedule and gave up. We will be gutting these two bathrooms in the next few years, and having an actual water-tight shower is a stop-gap. We won't be considering CER Custom Renovations for the job based on this experience.
We are so sorry for the miscommunication in regards to coming out to your home. From what I remember you cancelled the appointment the day of. It is very important that we all respect each others time. We get an tremendous amount of phone calls per week with new clients looking for services. Its not our intention t not meet with clients or be non responsive. We will be more than happy to reschedule for someone to come out and provide you with a free estimate. We do look forward to hearing from you and working with you. C. Riley
We hired CER to remodel the bathroom in our new house. From the beginning we were extremely excited. Chris made it sound like this was going to be exactly the room we were looking for. He promised the entire job would be done in 2 weeks (so that it would be completed the day before we moved in). He then began to be very hard to get a hold of. His contractors wouldn't show up on time and would work until all hours. What was supposed to be a 2 week project turned into a 6 week project with him guaranteeing us literally every time we talked to him that it was just about over and it wouldn't last more than 1-2 days more. We had told him what our budget was and every place he told us to go to was so overpriced it was ridiculous. For example, the place he sent us for fixtures didn't have anything less than $150 per fixture. He also underestimated the amount of tile we would need 3 times; causing us to have to go back several times and spend 3x the amount of money we had budgeted for tile. I would not recommend CER renovations at all. We are finding more issues everyday as we live with their work. They did not patch a part of the drywall and the toilet paper holder is falling out of the wall. They "redid" the plumbing but used all used fixtures that we had to replace 6 months later by hiring another contractor. They also put the hot and cold plumbing back in backwards and we are having to go behind the shower to find out what is causing the water pressure issues.
I'm a little puzzled at this review. We finished this project around spring of 2012 and yet this is the first time I'm hearing of any issues that you guys were having. Like with anything I think that it's only fair to allow any company or individual to correct any mistakes that had happened. I will admit that your project did take longer to get done than promised due to some unforeseen circumstances on our part, however we did finish it through to completion. I also want to make sure we are fair in regards the statement you made about fixtures. We only recommend showrooms we have relationships with and they usually come at a much higher standard than the big box stores. If the price of fixtures were to much there you were not obligated to purchase through them. I informed you that if you ordered cheap fixtures that you would get what you paid for. So I'm not really understanding how we are responsible for the quality of fixtures that you ordered yourself online against our recommendation. If there was a problem with the install we would have gladly stood by our work to correct any issues. We do not have the reputation for doing any substandard work. This is the first review out of 93 stating this. We always encourage open communication and try extremely hard to please all over our clients. We are truly sorry to have caused any inconvenience to you and your family. Again we will be more than happy to fix any issues you have had with your bathroom. C. Riley
