The service at this place sucks, it takes forever to get your food (which is expensive, in small portion and not delicious), I've tried it several times to see if the service will be different, but it's the same every time. I think I'll just abandon this place.

THERE WAS A FULL SIZED COCKROACH IN OUR HOT CHOCOLATE. My mom, my sister-in-law and I went to Intermezzo for some dessert. We ordered two hot chocolates, a mimosa, and a sambuco cake. My mom ate all of the whipped cream off the hot chocolate first with her spoon then began to drink the hot chocolate itself. She drank more than half of her hot chocolate before realizing the disgusting cockroach floating upside down. My mom didn't even notice anything at first. I thought it was chocolate shaving. My sister-in-law found it strange and took her spoon and scooped it up. We both screamed out loud and she dropped the spoon back into the cup. My mom then went to the restroom to vomit. It took us forever to get the attention of a host. Once we got the manager, things got worse. The manager didn't take responsibility and all she said was "I didn't put it there." and "It already happened, and I can't do anything." As a manager she should've AT LEAST asked if there's anything she could do for us regarding the incident. She then brought a male manager. He comes up to us and has the nerve to ask how we would like to take care of the bill. SERIOUSY? My mom needs to go to the doctor's for a check-up now. I just wish to warn you about my horrifying experience here so everyone can reconsider before you end up drinking cockroaches. I have pictures if you need help to be persuaded.

The cafe is beautiful, but that (and the dessert) where the only redeaming qualitied of my visit. I attended on Saturday afternoon with 3 friends and the service was horrible. Our waiter was overwhelmed with the few tables he was handling and seemed kind of confused on the basics of service, like asking if we wanted more coffee or dessert. Our entrees came out luke warm, they had aparently been sitting before being delivered to our table. Overall I was very dissapointed.

On a not-busy Wednesday night, I was seated immediately but it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come by. Food came out promptly after that, decent but unremarkable, and things were reasonably ok until the bill. I had a perfectly valid gift certificate a friend gave me; the waitress actually told me not to leave while she went off to check if she would take it because gift certificates are only valid until 9 p.m., and it was exactly 9 p.m. when the bill arrived. The manager I spoke to about her rudeness told me "Gift certificates had been a problem in the past" and didn't seem to think there was a problem with treating a new customer like a thief and telling me not to leave. Neither was even polite about it - no words like "Please" or "I'm sorry", it was presented like I was inconveniencing them, and an otherwise fine evening was severely marred. The service here simply doesn't measure up to the price. I recommend them for the drink menu because you can't find anything like it elsewhere nearby, but dine and spend the majority of your evening and dollars elsewhere.

My daughters go here very often, usually for coffee and dessert. One of them stopped by late in the evening to get dessert to go. When she got home, she discovered they had given her was not what she ordered or wanted. She brought them back the next day and they wouldn't refund her but made her get something else. I feel like they took advantage of a 21 year old who wouldn't make a fuss. If I had gone, I would have gotten a refund and they probably would have given me a coupon for a free dessert also. That is what I would expect after getting the wrong order late in the evening and having to go back the next day to return it. Her parents won't go back and neither will they go with their friends anymore. Not the way to treat younger patrons who really spend their hard-earned money there. There are other overpriced, trendy places they can go.

Looking for a European style cafe with great ambiance and great desserts? Then Cafe Intermezzo (Dunwoody location) is for you. If you're looking for a nice place to relax with friends or a great date venue with romantic ambiance, nice music, and amazing cheesecake, then you'll love this place as much as I do. (Since it tends to be the type of place where people come and stay for a little while, the wait staff doesn't come around as often after taking your initial order. So if you're in a hurry, you may want to ask for your check after receiving your order).

GREAT DATE NIGHT LOCATION!!! Very chill and laid back coffee house with an amazing selection of sweet indulgences! The dessert selections seem endless (just like the calories) but well worth a little extra time at the gym. Perfect girls night spot as well. Its also convenient that they are open so late!

Cafe Intermezzo is a great spot to go for a date or to go out with friends for late night coffee and conversation! It's European feel makes the place extremely unique! The beverages are excellent and the desserts are great! The servers come around every so often but other than that it is a local favorite!

I like this location better than the Buckhead one because of the outside terrace. It's a bit European and the atmosphere is great. Excellent selection of coffees, teas and cakes - you'll have a hard time making up your mind!

I proposed to my wife at Cafe Intermezzo in Nov 2006 at their P'tree location. We have been married over a year now and we still enjoy dining at Intermezzo's at our favorite table. We love the ambiance and the food.

Every time a friend from out of the state comes to Atlanta, I take them here for a good piece of cake or pie. I have had food from the dinner menu which is not bad either. This is a great place to take a date or just to sit and talk with a group of friends. It's normally pretty crowded but it's great if you just want to grab desser and/or a drink.
