I love their food here -- it's so fresh and they have some great healthy veggies and salads that will warm you on a cold night. The biggest problem is that it's so good, I want to eat it all and then I can't eat any more. Big problem. Big portions, great service, nice elegantly hip atmosphere. And the folks here are so tuned in to our community, they help kids in schools, teens in cooking competitions, provide scholarships, and boost our local businesses by hosting and providing food for events. Tip of the hat to you Greg Carter and California Dreaming!

On the recommendation of friends, my wife and I first ate at California Dreaming on Chastain Road for our anniversary last September. Our meals (prime rib and baby back ribs) were delicious. The service was outstanding, and we were thrilled to discover $1.95 basic well drinks. It is now our favorite spot for Friday after work "date night." Whether we sit on the patio and enjoy drinks and appetizers or go inside for full meals, the top-notch staff and manager Greg Carter have always made us feel like family. The prices aren't the cheapest, but the quality is worth every penny. And we've noticed that we're not the only ones who keep going back.

I am not sure why we avoided this place for so long but upon the recommendation of a colleague we went just before Christmas and it was really good! The food was very tasty and my betrothed really like his steak-it's always either under- or overcooked even at the nice steakhouses and he loved the flavorful marinade. I had a hot vegetable salad and I loved it. We have been twice and the second time was good also. She-crab soup is good also. Try it, you'll like it!

Tried this place out and was disappointed. Food was ok but very expensive. Staff was nice and atmosphere was nice. Not worth it though. Too many other places nearby to eat that have better food at a more reasonable price.

Of 34 reviews to date, I've only given a handful of "5s" & several of those still missed the mark on something. After dinner two weekends in a row at Cali-Drmng., I'm still looking for a problem. Food was excellent, service was top notch, servings were generous and prices reasonable. For $15.95 you get a huge, deliciously prepared slab of fried flounder that compares to our local haunts on the coast. A side & a generous house salad (try hot-bacon honey-mustard dressing) w/buttery croissant is included. 2nd trip I had the fried shrimp for $1 more. Very good also. Wife had some kind of big salad & loved it. If it were closer (about 10 miles) we'd probably go again this weekend! Ok, I had to finally think of something... they use cloth napkins & your fingers get sticky from the croissant right away. I'd prefer a paper napkin for that, so had to use the one under the tea glass! Big whoop; we'll be back soon.
