Read the fine lines in your contract!!
""BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! There is a little sneaky charge you will find on your bill this month for $29. When I called I was told by the manager, ""Heather"" at the Sunrise Location that it's an ""Annual Service Fee"". It was never explained to me when I signed up so in addition to my $49 a month fee I was unexpectedly charged the $29 this month. It was explained to me that its for upgrading the bathrooms and such and that it was in my contract ""Section 3 Paragraph !?!?!"" She was more than happy, in fact almost giggling as if she ""had me backed in a corner"" to point out where it was on my contract and if I had it in front of me. Good news is that since my contract is more than 6-months old it's only $150 to cancel rather than the required $270. I'll be canceling my membership and take up walking the American River Trail instead. This will be much money saved.""\r\r

Beware of the sales guys, they dont tell the truth!
I joined this club in Folsom in December. The sales guy (Leigh) who registered me in the club waived the fee for my son, and he said that it was good for only 2 months, but he said, he will work with the club manager to get the waiver extended. However, in reality, he never set it up that way, and the the guy left. I had terrible problems for 2 months, and none of their staff (all the way up GM) tell you the truth and never bothered about the issues I was going through. I was very disturbed by these events, and the treatment meted out to me by this club. \r\rNow, I dont know about other places, but the Folsom Club is horrible. Their sales staff never tell you the truth, and have complete disregard for customer satisfaction.\r\rI must tell that the rest of the club staff were very friendly though (especially the folks at the kids club).\r\rSo, please be aware of what you are signing up for, and get everything in writing. Of course, I would never go this club again.\r\r

CFF review from 10 year member
I have been a member of California Family Fitness for over ten years and have enjoyed their different facilities. They are usually upbeat, modern, and clean. I have found most of the staff to be very nice and cheerful. However, it would appear that their ambitions to be the largest fitness club in California come with a price. Customer Service. Several events took place over the last few months that made us finally give up our $26 dollar charter membership and find a fitness club that cares about its members.
The most disturbing was their complete lack of care or response when I pulled a soiled female sanitary napkin from the bottom of their Orangevale pool. In fact, one manger, Steve I believe was his name, laugh and thought I was going to tell him I found a “floater”. I guess he was referring to finding a piece of human feces instead, as if that would have been any better.
I reported the incident to the corporate office in Orangevale after finding something of a questionable nature in their spa. Again, no response.
To add insult to injury, when I tried to call and cancel my membership, I was informed that I could not over the phone and had to come down in person and it will take 20 minutes. 20 minutes to cancel membership? Or do I have to sit through their last attempts to keep me before they will stop charging my credit card.
