Camp Boggy Creek is one of 14 camps worldwide that were founded by actor Paul Newman through the Hole in the Wall Association of Camps for children with serious illnesses. Our mission is to enrich the lives of these children by creating camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, empowering, medically safe and fun. We serve over 13 different illness groups including heart disease, sickle cell anemia, HIV, hemophilia and cancer. We are a not-for-profit medical camping center that depends.. on the generosity of people like you to give our campers the "time of their life!"
Our programs include 8 week-long Summer Camping Sessions, which begin in June and run through mid-August. Summer programs allow our kids a week of fun, adventure, and independence: catching their first fish, shooting a bow and arrow, or climbing the "tower" while helping them to create some incredible memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Volunteers serve along side our staff as Cabin Counselors, living and playing with our campers for an entire week of camp fun. We have a TREMENDOUS NEED FOR MALE VOLUNTEERS during our summer camping season. Please sign up TODAY!
We also host 20 "Family Weekends," which begin in September and run through April during the fall and spring months. Family Weekends bring a camper's entire family to camp, where parents can relax and find needed support among other families facing identical challenges. Brothers and sisters are able to participate in the same fun activities as their camper siblings. Volunteers serve as Family Pals or as Activity Pals, assisting with our many activity areas. We have a serious need for CERTIFIED LIFEGUARDS during our Family Weekend Program! We begin signing up volunteers for our Family Weekends in late July for fall and in Nov. for spring! Our weekends are very popular and do fill quickly.
To learn more about this incredible opportunity, please contact Robin Brubaker, the Volunteer Coordinator at (352) 483-4200 extension 293 or email at Rbrubaker@boggycreek.org. You may also visit our website at http://www.boggycreek.org for more information.
Dont miss out on this opportunity to change the life of a child while having the time of your life!

This is bar none the best camp of it's kind. The volunteers are so outgoing, bubbly and friendly that the campers can't help but to have a great time. This is for physicially challanged and terminally ill children. Top notch!!!

This observation is from someone who visits the camp with their therapy dog and we feel that this is a group of very caring people doing a special job for the kids. This is one we all need to support for all the good work they do.

Enter the gates to another world. Leave your troubles on the outside and unwind for however long you intend to stay. Whether it is you first or you've already experienced the magic that is Boggy Creek, you will have the time of your life. A camp for kids who are chronically ill or have a life threatening illness. Boggy Creek is the place where they feel safe, respected and loved. You will find that while the campers may look up to you, you will be inspired by their courage and love for life. It's a place where you go to give to others, and take away with you precious and lasting memories. In all sincerity, it a great place to go be a kid again. Come to be a volunteer, come to be a role model, come to be inspired, but most importantly come to: Play with kids!!!!!
