Think Twice!
Earlier this month we entrusted Camp Bow Wow with the care of our Dog while we went on a short vacation. When we picked her up, she looked terrible. The girl that checked us out said she was worn out from spending a lot of time in the Sun (This during 95+ degree weather!). Our dog's mouth was so dry she could barely drink water. Despite our efforts to cool her down and comfort her, she died in my arms that night. Our Vet suspects she died from heatstroke. As if this wasn’t devastating enough, the response from the owner, Jeff, was appalling. Jeff called me two days later. He apologized, but offered nothing more. As the conversation came to a close, I was shocked he had not offered a refund. When I asked about it, he told me he would “consider” it and call me the next day with an answer. After what occurred, who would actually need to “consider” a refund? Regardless, I never received a call back or even a sympathy card, but I did receive an email survey later that week. Apparently Jeff was unhappy with my response to the survey and sent me a nasty email a week later to let me know that since I responded negatively to his survey, he would not be refunding any charges. A devastating loss to our family and their response was unfathomable. Unfortunately, I’m limited to 250 words. If you have any questions, please contact me at MemoryOfOurDog@gmail.com

This will be a series due to character limitations: Ok, so some people will stop at nothing. I will reprint the original survey and response to it. It is interesting how he vilifies us a little bit more each time he tells his story. He picked up his dog on Saturday and he told us that Nevada passed away the following day, but in his second version it was the night before. We have documented video of him picking up his dog and it was acting fine. As stated below, he did not even take the opportunity (i.e., spend the money) to find out what his dog died of, and has taken our phone conversation and made it out to sound like he would like it to be portrayed, which is completely erroneous. Also, I did not send him a nasty email, but I was blunt about the fact that he was making things up that simply were not true. I will let the truth speak for itself.

Wonderful Service
Let me say first that we brought our Boxer and it did not work out for him-he decided he did not like any dogs coming in after him! BUT I was so impressed with every single person at Camp Bow Wow Duluth-they greeted him so warmly and even when I had to pick him up every single worker came out and said 'bye' to him and gave him a hug. I cannot express how disappointed I am that our Boxer will not be able to return to such a wonderful place with such obviously caring people.

Jazz loves Camp Bow Wow
All we have to do is ask Jazz if he wants to go to Doggie Daycamp and he gets so excited! I love that I can watch him and see him playing. I called to bring him in and everyone (including Jeff the owner) seems so excited Jazz is coming in. It's nice to know that someone gets as excited about him coming in as he gets when I tell him he's going. We have boarded as well as day camp and have had no doubts my child is being well cared for. Also great to see Jazz crashed on his bed as soon as he walks into the house because he has had so much fun!!!

Camp is GREAT for working parents!
My wife and I work long days, averaging 12 hours+ away from home each day. When we got our Schnauzer, there was just NO way we could justify leaving her alone for that long during the week. As soon as she was old enough, we took her to Camp Bow-Wow. It was great socialization for her with other animals. She continues to go to day-camp on a regular basis and has ever since.

We take her twice a week, and she comes home a completely different dog. We can just mention "camp" and she gets excited. When she comes home she's happy, healthy, and most importantly worn FLAT out. She falls asleep in the car and we get a restful day or two.

If you listen to the TV shows, experts, etc. most behavior problems are as a result of too much energy and not enough exercise. Camp Bow-Wow is like an 8-10 hour long walk for your dog. If you have a dog with that frenetic energy, this is a GREAT way to bleed off some of that anxiety for you AND your pet.

As for camp itself, the staff is friendly/helpful, the facilities are clean/well designed, and overall the place is well-run. My dog is part of my family and I wouldn't leave her with just anybody. We continuously recommend Camp Bow-Wow and the concept of open-play to all our friends.
