My husband & I were very pleased with our experience at Canine Country Academy and our puppy loved it there. We live about 27 miles away but it was worth the drive. We had been searching for a trainer in our area and did not agree with most of the methods offered. We had also left messages for one facility and even went by to leave a message but our call was not returned. We found Cathy Bruce on Google. After reviewing her background we gave her a call. She responded promptly, was very friendly and answered all our questions in a professional manner. We signed up our 6 month old puppy for Puppy 101. It was GREAT! Cathy and Staff know animals and care for them so much. Will continue classes. This is a very large and clean facility and is very animal friendly. So glad we found Canine Country Academy, Cathy and Staff.

All behaviorists and dog trainers need the services of other trainers from time to time, and Cathy Bruce at Canine Country Academy is such a respected individual in this field that not only do I recommend her training classes to my clients, I have used her services as a behaviorist and take my own dogs to her training classes. She has a wealth of experience using positive training techniques to effect huge changes in reactive dogs and is very much the 'go to' person for other trainers with difficult cases when a second opinion is needed. She is a great people person, so the humans never feel left out of the fun in her classes; I've learned so much, my dogs have learned so much and we have always had a blast! Keep up the great work!

Over the past three years, I've taken two of my dogs through programs at Canine Country Academy - basic obedience and Rally obedience. The classes have been really fun for both me and my dogs. Cathy, the owner, presents information is a way that's easy to follow. She's also been great at helping me pinpoint ways to better communicate with my dogs and get the desired behavior. I'd definitely recommend Canine Country Academy to anyone who wants to have a great time training their dog with positive, relationship-building techniques.

Having taken a Reactive Dog class as well as a Fundamentals of Behavior class here, I was eager to sign up for two more. I love the fact that the trainer/owner is truly dog-friendly and would never allow anyone to treat their dog harshly. Cathy and staff truly love and respect dogs, and have a clear but humorous way of communicating with clients. It is also possible to audit classes you are considering-a really nice plus! I have also been very happy with their willingness to answer questions and discuss behavior issues outside of class. My calls and emails have always recieved a prompt and helpful response. The owner/trainer has many easily verified qualifications and belongs to respected training and behavior organizations.I've recommended Canine Country to several friends who have nothing but praise for how their classes were handled, too.

A little over a year ago I started taking classes at CCA after meeting Cathy at a dog event. I was impressed by her ability to work with my foster dog and wanted to take my own dogs to a group class. Wow! I can't stop taking my dogs. I've got 5 and 3 have already taken classes and two are signed up for more fun! I think the courtesy, respect and upbeat owner really make it a great experience.

Though the owner/trainer spent time evaluating my dog, she showed reluctance and resistance when I asked her for references (other clients). After asking her twice, she finally relented but only gave me one. I called and spoke to the reference, questioning the owner's short experience in the field among other things. When word got back to the owner regarding that question, she became insulted and refused to work with my dog. If the owner cannot handle potential clients finding out about the quality of her work, maybe that work is not so good, and she's trying to hide something. The business world is built on referrals. Apparently, the owner is not ready for the business world because her work is not of such good quality.
