Superior Expertise, Thrilled with the Progress!
My new foster dog, Emmy Lou
, was a two-time foster return to the Boston Terrier rescue. She is deaf. Upon arrival to my home, she immediately reacted to and jumped on my three dogs over territorial and jealousy issues. I had been told "she doesn't like her crate, and she doesn't like being left alone." What an understatement that was! Emmy Lou hated being in her crate so much, her protests were giving her severe digestive upset.

I immediately called Canine PhD for a consultation with Meredith. She quickly identified the issues and designed a individual training program. We also identified a safety plan to keep all of the dogs safe.

Within three weeks of individual time with MarLee, Emmy Lou began to relax and respond to her training. She quit being so reactive at home, and was more tolerant of the other dogs and their rapid movements. She began to accept being separated from me while in the house. She is allowing me to very slowly re-aquaint her with the crate.

Emmy Lou came to my home as a foster dog that would never be adopted. Today, she is very near being ready to go to her forever home.

The best for dogs with issues!
When we rescued Frieda off the streets of Tucker 18 months ago, I had no idea how challenging our life would become. The sweet fuzzy puppy started out as reactive to dogs, and then she quickly developed paralyzing fear and reactivity towards people, children, dogs and anything else that was outside of the four walls of our house. She would totally shut down when took her out of a familiar environment. Our neighbors were convinced that she was going to break out of the house and attack everyone. Another dog trainer witnessed Frieda's behavior and sent me to Meredith.

Frieda and I have had multiple private lessons and classes, from those designed specifically for "dogs with issues" to K9 Nosework. When the usual reactive dog class wasn't helping Frieda ( you know your dog REALLY has problems when she can't handle the class designed for dogs with those problems), Meredith worked with us to find positive tools & techniques that would help. She knows an incredible amount about doggy behavior, and she has patiently worked with me and the rest of my family to help us train Frieda.

Frieda is now able to enjoy hiking with me, and she can handle the sudden appearance of off leash dogs without a complete meltdown. She excels at our K9Nosework classes, and she is able to work even when she knows other dogs are around.

Frieda has blossomed under Meredith and the other trainers at Canine PhD. We highly recommend them!

Best Trainer In Atlanta
Our schnauzer Parker had both dog and people fear issues. After the reactive dog class her people issues are far less than they were before! We are still working with her every day and rewarding good behavior but without the class as a baseline we would be lost. I will recommend her to all my friends, in fact I already have!

Highly Recommend
My experience with Canine PhD has been amazing. Meredith is a wonderful person and trainer that really dedicates herself to animal welfare, strengthening the bond between animals and their humans, and teaching people how to communicate. Training classes are positive for the dogs and for the people--both gain confidence and mutual respect through her guidance.

My experience with Betty has also been wonderful. The dogs love her and the people do too. She takes her time with the pets and is patient with us people as well.

I have met Richard once, and he was able to give me helpful pointers on things I could do at home that were beneficial to the dog I was working with.

All around an amazing group of people who will truely care about your pet, you, and the relationship you mold together. They explore new and positive training methods and are always eager to learn and improve. This is the first training facility I have been to where I felt completely secure and confident that I was doing the right work with the dog I love.

I know all the courses would be great, but I personally recommend the reactive dog class for those of you who have found yourself a little over your head!

The Best in Town
Meredith runs the best and most effective dog training program in Atlanta! I have a rescue GSP who had an unknown past, and as a result was reactive under certain circumstances. After several ineffective trainers, Meredith managed to get me and my boy properly "trained" to the point where he is a changed dog - happy, confident, and trusting. He came such a long way - it took some work, but Meredith showed us the way!

She also is constantly improving and expanding her knowledge of best practices (one of the few trainers I know that does so) and is well respected in the dog and cat world. Plus she seems to really love the dogs!! And the love her!

We've done a number of other fun courses with Meredith including Nose Work and a MUST DO Canine CSI course, where you and your dog get to "solve" a crime. Incredibly well organized, and thought out, this course will likely be one of the most fun and memorable experience you can have with your dog!!

I've sent friends with reactive dogs to Meredith as well, and they have all had radically positive transformations. Can't recommend her any more highly!
