I have loved working with MarLee and Betty. Their training techniques are easy to learn and my pup loves them.
Meredith of Canine PhD is an extraordinary trainer and person. As a small business owner myself, I have pretty high standards in customer service and delivery of services. She goes WAY ABOVE AND... BEYOND! Not only did she give us more confidence and peace of mind in training dachshund Winston. Meredith's training style is positive and doable. Years after working with her, we still practice the skills she taught us. Meredith also continued to give custom advice based on our needs when we were traveling. Canine PhD is a tailwaggin' life-changer.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Humor, understanding, non-judgemental, good timing, consistency-and that's just how she deals with me! What a pleasure to have Stacy as a trainer. Her real world experience in dog competitions gives her lessons gravity-but she keeps her humor intact with us crazy humans! But mostly, Stacy has been key to helping my shy little doggie open up and accept love and affection from others. That has been the greatest gift to both me and my dog. Training: $185. A Happy Dog: Priceless.

Stacey is amazing!!! From Manners 101 to advanced agility, Stacey has taught me how to train my dog. She has not only taught us with positive methods to do basic commands-- sit, stay, down, stand, walk at my side on leash, she has taught us to work at a distance--him obeying a basic command from across a field. She has also, in just a few private lessons, got my dog to run weave poles, wait on contact zones, and follow my signals to do front and rear crosses. Working with Stacey is such a joy! Not only does my dog learn quickly, we have a wonderful time. If you want a well trained, happy and balanced dog, go to Stacey at Canine Ph.D.

I was referred to Meredith at Canine PhD by my pilates instructor and will never look back! I have a smart, stubborn wheaten terrier that has more energy than I knew what to do with...Meredith completely helped not only my pup but taught me also! She never judged us and always makes us feel like great dog owners. We went to learn some basic manners and 3 classes later it is our favorite hour of the week! Meredith is the best trainer around. I recommend her for every dog and owner even if you don't think you need any training! Your dog will be mentally and physically stimulated and so happy you went to Canine PhD!

My husband and I have a Pembroke Corgi that we first brought to Canine PhD for Manners 101 class. We were so impressed with Meredith Minkin's knowledge and demeanor with our dog, we have taken 3 more classes because we enjoy it so much. We recently started taking her Agilty classes and it's our favorite thing to do every week. Our corgi loves it too!! I urge dog owners who value their pets to take them to Meredith Minkin at Canine PhD. she has a true understanding of dogs and you will be very happy with the results. Paige Hartley

I just moved to Atlanta and was looking for a dog trainer for my dog. I googled a few places and found the Canine PhD had the most different kinds of classes offered so I thought it must be a reputable place. I emailed Meredith who responded promptly and enrolled me in her next Manners 101 class. It was so much fun spending time with your pup and meeting other dogs too! She keeps the classes small so everyone gets the attention they need. She isn't only training your dog, she trains you as the owner to be able to read your dog. It's a really neat experience and we have already signed up for Play and Obey and are looking forward to Agility!! Def recommend Meredith to anyone who is looking for a dog trainer :)

Meredith really goes above and beyond to train both the dog and the owner which allows for everyone to be on the same page. She is caring and compassionate and makes sure both the owner and dog are comfortable with the weekly lesson before you walk out the door. She is great with my pit bull and I would never even consider going anywhere else... Looking forward to Manners 202!

Canine Ph.D. is helping me transform my talented and highly-capable but shy and conflicted miniature schnauzer into a happier, more carefree, confident dog. Using various methods and positive approaches, Canine Ph.D. has helped me help my dog go from freezing in her tracks at people and other dogs, to keeping neutral as they pass, to now showing interest and letting friendly strangers and dogs say hello. I have learned to "speak" a little dog, how to recognize and respect a dog's signs, needs, and feelings, and learned that, like life, it's all a process. Owner/trainer Meredith Minkin has an outstanding ability to read dogs and teach people. She is willing to try whatever works for both the individual dog and the owner. She is patient and positive. Meredith said she wanted to help my dog go from stoic and unhappy to teaching her that she could be a happy dog, even when I wasn't around. And that's exactly what has been happening. I can't say enough good things about Canine Ph.D.

I would highly recommend Meredith Minkin of Canine Ph.D as a dog trainer and behaviorist. With her skills you realize it is not necessary to put up with a jumping, pulling or reactive dogs. Training can really help you enjoy your dog more. I have had dogs all of my life, over the past 20 years 2-4 at a time. I always trained them myself. A couple of my dogs more recently had behavior problems on walks and in my van when they would see other dogs and cats. It made walks very unpleasant. I got a recommendation from a friend of mine that works with several rescue organization and offers private and group training. I started out with a few private lessons to work on the specific behaviors. There have been great results. Of course I needed to spend the time to work on the training that I was taught. I have learned so much I did not realize how much I did not understand about dog behavior. Meredith is very skilled and really understands the details of dog behavior. She use positive reinforcement techniques are which really turn the tide with my dogs. I have also enrolled a new pup I adopted that had no training. She is very strong and needed to understand what is appropriate. She based Manners 101 with flying colors and we are now tackling Manners 202. The time and money spent on training is well worth it. If you are not enjoying your dog(s) Meredith (Canine PhD) can really help you.

Meredith is absolutely amazing! After a session with her I swear I have a totally different dog. My Lab mix is big, hyper, energetic, and SMART--a formidable combination when it comes to training. Meredith has not only figured Scout out, she's really helped train me and my husband so that we can understand him and continue working with him even when we don't have her direct guidance. We first hired Meredith when Scout was having trouble at dog parks. She helped us understand why dog parks weren't a great environment for him, and gave us lots of other activity options to help him get his abundant energy out. Since then, Meredith has helped him with his indoor manners, leash walking (after our very first session of leash training I felt like I had a totally new dog--he's a pleasure to walk with now, and not a leash-pulling pain!), and she's now helping us prepare Scout for the arrival of a new baby in our household. Meredith is amazing at what she does; she understands dogs and she is phenomenal at helping humans learn to relate better to their pets and work with them in a significant and rewarding way. I can't recommend her enough.

I have worked with several trainers over the years, as we have moved around a lot and have been fostering dogs for many years. Meredith is by far the best. She is patient and listens to what you tell her. My dogs took to her right away. If a particular technique is not working, she is always willing to try a different, positive approach until you find something that works for you and your particular pet. She has helped our fosters overcome a wide range of issues and allowed them to become polite and confidant. Without her, several of them would likely be unadoptable. I highly recommend her for anyone dealing with behavioral issues or looking to strengthen the bond with their dog through obedience or sports, like agility or rally.

I took my semi-reactive dog to Stacey and she has worked wonders. From Stacey's knowledge with basic obedience to agility, we have done it all and Stacey knows how to teach it all... not only to the dog but also to the people. She will take her time with you, but don't think this will be a relaxing class. She definitely makes you work along with your dog. You both will leave wanting to take a nap! If you are looking for someone with experience and knowledge, go to Stacey at Canine PhD for the best class experiences. She will take her time with you and your dog to make sure they master everything before they graduate from the class. My favorite is the agility and Stacey teaches an awesome agility class. This is a trainer you will get your money's worth from.

Meredith has helped TREMENDOUSLY with our dog's fear aggression. In just a few short weeks, we have seen a huge improvement by using Meredith's training ideas. Meredith is patient with pups and their humans, too. You are your dog will love her!

Meridith took our 8 week old monster of a Beagle Puppy and turned him into a GREAT DOG! She trained my kids and me how to handle the puppy and showed us some wonderful techniques to keep him from biting and chasing the kids. My 6 year old was afraid of him and ready to give him away... now he loves his puppy and even takes the dog out to play! I would recommend Meridith to ANYONE having problems with their dog. She is a miracle worker and we will always be grateful.
