Canvas has a great menu selection something for everyone, only draw back I have is the pricing. Will be back

Service with Apathy, 8/27/2010

We dined outside for my first experience. I had the beet salad. The beets were supposed to be "thyme roasted". They were not roasted. Just some canned beets crinkle cut and slapped on top of a bed... of lettuce. Lavash was stale, and if there was Thyme in it, I couldn't taste it. It began to lightly rain. A server came out and put up an umbrella for another table, passed us by, then disappeared. "Well, that was weird" we said. So my friend went inside to ask for an umbrella. The server said "it will be a minute". Oh sure! We'll just get rained on, thank you. A minute or two passed and a man came out with an umbrella and put it up on an EMPTY table. Okay, whatever, he's going back inside for another one. He comes back with another umbrella, approaches our table, smiles at me and says "excuse me", and puts the umbrella up at ANOTHER EMPTY table behind us!! The man trots away. Enters the restaurant - Never seen again. Those previously empty tables fill immediately. Our server comes out 5 minutes later and informs us that they gave out their last umbrella. "Sorry" doesn't really cut it at this point. Where's the courtesy and common sense? Apparently they thought we enjoy eating in the rain. Not a bit of concern from them. Can't say much for the menu as I only tried one combo. The menu looks interesting. Prices are fair. Too bad I won't be coming back.

Good Food... If You Can Wait

Canvas has a great location - located in the shadow of Kennestone Hospital, it attracts a lot of business. However, this is also a downfall; many times, the wait to just order can be over 10 minutes, and calling ahead doesn't help much. The food is delicious and filling, however it can get expensive - be prepared to pay over $10 for a lunch, and wait up to 15 minutes just to get your foot in the door!

Awesome FOOD! Great Service

I eat at Canvas at least once a week, and I am never disappointed with what I order. I take my clients to lunch there as much as possible too. A few years ago, Canvas made our wedding cake and it was fantastic! It is one of my favorite memories from my big day. I would recommend Canvas for breakfast, lunch or any catering event - to anyone! They know how to please their customers, that's for sure; the place is always busy.

If you haven't tried this, your missing out.

Best deck eating hands down. Deck is placed far from road with shade umbrellas -- no auto exhaust with your meal here. And then there is the menu: Oh my goodness! "Not Your Mother's Egg Salad" is a real winner. Many other worthy selections too.

Refreshing lunch fare

The food here matches the warm and inviting decor. The sandwiches and salads are fresh and tasty. I love their selections of green teas and coffees AND their desserts are out of this world. My husband and I always split their 'junkyard' bar which is amazing! The salad with greens, goat cheese, cranberries and toasted pecans is my favorite on the menu. This is a must visit when you are in Marietta.

once was enough

I thought the appearance of Canvas was very nice and welcoming. The food I found to be over priced & really not too appealing. The chicken salad tasted bad (too much pickle & grapes) & the PB&J sandwich cost more than a happy meal. I think I'll stick with Tommy's on the square for a good sandwich.

AMAZING

In a word -- AMAZING. I could gain 20 pounds if I ate here too much. The sandwiches were great, but the desserts were AMAZING. I'm not sure what they put in them, but they are homemade and delicious. I'll be back soon!!

Great place to eat

I ate at Canvas Cafe for the first time this week with a friend that eats there all of the time. I really liked the food and the setting is very nice inside and out. Great place for lunch or breakfast.

Amazing lunch spot

I stopped in on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this cafe. Its gorgeous inside and out. I was greeted warmly and the chicken-bacon-avocado sandwich I ordered was out-of-this-world! I had the young lady at the counter pick a salad for me and the gamble paid off! I had an incredibly flavorful salad with bits of apple, dried cranberry and walnut that normally I would never have ordered on my own. This place is a tucked away treasure that I hope others find and enjoy as much as I did.
