I live within walking distance from Caramba Cafe and will never eat there again. The food isn't that great, and the waiters act like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. The family that runs the place needs to hire more workers. You have to wait forever for a drink! Plus, a few weeks ago, their daughter, the bartender, screamed at me and my husband for taking a drink that she handed to us. We walked out right then and there. They'll tell you they have the best margaritas in town, but it's not worth it because you're lucky to get one at all.

I live in the neighborhood within walking distance and even so one visit to Caramba was enough. The food just wasn't good. Even the basics like the chips tasted stale. We try to support local businesses, be we won't be back to Caramba Cafe

I think the food here is quite good, and the service is even better. A very animated family runs the place and they will take care of you. If you are craving mexican comfort food full of saucy cheesy goodness this is a place to go!

I must disagree with a previous reviewer who claimed that anyone who didn't appreciate the dining experience at this place just didn't "get it" or was from outside the Perimeter. What I don't "get" is having to put up with inattentive waitstaff, watery margaritas, mediocre food, and probably the rudest restaurant manager/owner I've ever encountered. When a waitress spilled an entire full beer across the table and onto one of my dining companions' laps, she was hardly apologetic AND the manager refused to deduct the beer from our bill! When I protested, she proceded to berate me loudly in front of the entire restaurant, mortifying the other patrons and causing several people who were waiting for a table to leave. If that's what I have to "get" when I go out to eat, I'll pass. Ole!

This place is great especially if you get to know the owners (owned by a family). Other posts say that the service is rude but they are probably from people who have come from outside the perimeter or just don't "get it". The food and margaritas are great. I have been dining here since 1995 and never had a bad experience. So what if you have to wait for the check, order another margarita and relax. Go to a "chain restaurant" in the suburbs if you want fast, blah food.

The food was ok, but we got a horrible batch of Margaritas, they tasted like wax, when we asked if we could get something else the owner was very rude and tried to "fix" the drinks, which only made them worse So your better off going to any place else.

We have gone to Caramba several times in the past year and every time we swear we won't return. The wait staff is inattentive, bordering on rude. The food is OK, nothing great. It has the potential to be a nice little neighborhood joint, but we always have to wait and wait and wait for the bill, you have to break your arm trying to flag down a staffer. If a larger party is present, a small table becomes invisible. Our last trip really was the last time we will go.
