Carere Music scam
We rented two instruments at different times from this company and we used different credit cards. One day I received a late notice from Carere and I quickly called them about the notice. I was told that my credit card was delclined. At that moment I realized that my card had expired and I proceeded to give Carere the new number and was told they couldn't accept it unless I went to the store and filled out a new application. I asked why and they replied "it's illegal to take card information over the phone." Well being a merchant myself, I told them they were incorrect and I volunteered my new card's info. They rejected it.

This went on for month after month with late fee after late fee until they then sent it to collection and the credit bureau.

The contract you sign with Carere isn't Carere at all. It's some third party company called Music and arts.

I'd like to point out that the first instrument went fully paid with the use of my first credit card.

FYI- I started getting calls from a collection agency now demanding $2,000 for monthly charges, the instrument and late charges.

One collection agency caller advised me to buy used instruments from a pawn shop that go for $50 to $75.00 and that I should sell the Carere rented one on Ebay.

Lesson learned:
Beware Carere third party contracts and buy used instruments from a pawn shop.

I challenge the critical review of Michelle's work
When I saw the critical review of Michelle Conner's work and demeanor, it struck me that perhaps the critique was really out of line or at least the reviewer was possibly having a bad day.

My experience with Ms Conner indicated work of exemplary quality along with prompt and courteous service. as well, the tab she presented was one of the best deals I have ever had in the music field; and I have been a professional since the early 60's and performed for 10's of thousands, particularly during the pop festival Woodstock days.

The work she did for me was on my son's sax but I am busy buying horns for all members of my family --- especially so that we can enjoy a continuing business relationship with Carere Music where Ms Conner does her orchestral hardware magic.

Respectfully,

Joel D Osner

Atlantas ONLY pro resource for woodwind and brass
I have used Carere Music on a number of occasions and they do a great job. More than once I have brought my horns in for an adjustment before a show or road trip and they fixed it for me on the spot. It sure beats leaving your sax for a week just to get a leak fixed. Not only that, the price was good and the staff friendly. While there are plenty of places that cater to guitarists and other electronic musicians, very few companies in the area serve the pro horn players in this area. Carere is the place to go!

Bundy Bass Clarinet
My husband brought a bass clarinet to your store last week that was in terrible playing condition. The keys were sticky and unresponsive and I couldn't hit a note on upper register keys. Upon it's return yesterday the clarinet is playing like new!

I want Michelle Conner for doing a excellent repair job.

Customer Service not "In Tune"
I dropped my instrument off for a repair estimate. I received a call about the estimate 3 days later, agreed to the repairs which I was told would be completed in 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. When I called 15 days later to check on the status, I was told my repair had not yet been started, other more important repair jobs were given priority and it would be another couple of days before my job would even begin. There was no apology given, just this excuse. A phone call explaining and apologizing for the schedule change is the very least I expected. Carere's customer service could stand to be "tuned up" quite a bit, beginning with Michelle in instrument repairs. However, the rest of the staff is friendly and quite helpful.

Please accept my apologies for the rough start to our relationship as consumer to business owner. We really do care about our customers, it sounds like you never got to see that side of us. I would like to have the opportunity to make this situation right by offering a refund on your repair that you received in the store a few weeks ago. I feel so strongly about taking care of our customers that I think you deserve this. I also would like to know what instrument you had repaired so I can personally offer a loaner the next time you have your instrument fixed at our store. (no charge to you of course) I would also like you to know that we are implementing a new procedure thanks to your review above. We will now call/email each customer with repairs in the shop for over a week, so they will have an update on their instrument while it is with us. You are correct, that is what should have happened. I will not make excuses, we have been inundated with repairs with the beginning of school year. We try to offer a remedies along the way, such as a rental instrument, so your child is not without an instrument for a long period of time. I do apologize if that was not offered within your time in the repair shop. Please accept an offer to credit your repair and give us another shot. Michelle is a very competent repair technician and I feel very fortunate to have her on board with us. Repair is a specialty that is hard to find people as qualified as she is. We will strive to improve the communication in the future. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns. We are truly here in the community to be helpful. My email is jeanne@careremusic.com Thanks in advance for your time.
