I saw Dr. David Carlin recently at Carlin Vision in Snellville, and I have never been to a more patient-focused doctor's office before. Not only is Dr. Carlin great at explaining the 'how' and 'why' of the exam in patient-friendly terms, but the staff there is extremely polite, and recognize that you are a real person there and not a nameless customer who has nothing better to do than sit and wait an undetermined amount of time for your name to be called. I live north of town, and it is *well* worth the drive to Snellville to receive such outstanding care. It would be nice if other doctors took a page out of Carlin Vision's book, it would make a world of difference in the medical industry.

I have been going to Dr. Carlin for years, and finally in 2002 got LASIK surgery. It was a little more costly than going to one of the "LASIK Centers", but so worth it (I visited both). Dr. Carlin, along with everyone on his staff, could not be nicer. The office is beautiful, it is such a pleasure to be in the waiting room where they have comfy chairs, cookies, and coffee. 4 years later, my vision is still perfect and I go once a year for checkups. If you go there for glasses, they have a glasses boutique right in the office so you don't have to go somewhere else once you get a prescription! I highly recommend Dr. Carlin.

Our whole family goes to Carlin Vision. We see Dr. Thornhill and he's great too. The office staff does a good job, easy to make and/or reschedule an appointment if necessary. Late afternoon appointments are available and wonderful to keep kids from missing school. Keep in mind that at Carlin, they are opthamalogists, not just opticians. Opthamalogists will check for diseases of the eye like glaucoma, etc. It's not just an exam to get glasses. Therefore, the office visit will be usually in the $200 range if you don't have vision insurance. If you DO have insurance, they accept most plans and they make it really easy. Wait time is minimal, considering it's a very busy place! If you think you will need glasses, you can save some time by picking out what you like in the Optical Boutique during your waiting time. Their boutique eyewear prices are high, but they are convenient and do a good job. If you are without vision insurance, I recommend you get the prescription from Carlin Vision then take it to somewhere else to get prescription filled.

Have used several of the MDs in this office over the years. All great. Office is well run, prompt in keeping appointments, prepared in advance with insurance filing. Opticial shop probably a bit costly. Lovely jewelry made by Mrs. Carlin for sale-admire as you check out!

I was desperate to get a good doctor to check my vision and was directed to Dr. Carlin's office. There, son David and father Richard work together, on my first visit Dr. David found what many others have misssed, a problem with my corneas and he refered me to his father for treatment and a transplant. Every time I go to them I always feel they give me all the time I need to ask any questions or concerns. The office is always clean and the wait is always very reasonable given the amount of people they see everyday. I highly recommend them

Dr. Carlin is an optometrist who makes you feel immediately at ease. He is very professional and treats each patient as though he has all the time in the world even though he has a very large practice and is very busy. His office staff treats everyone with the utmost care. Appointments can be made in a timely manner and waits in the office are generally less than 15 minutes. His surgery success rates are primo and his general eye care is excellent. He gives options and lets the patient decide the outcome. He also respects his patients' wishes. I wished to have corrective surgery and he listed all pros and cons without swaying me one way or the other. I highly recommend Dr. Carlin for eye care. His prices are fair as well. I have used his services for over 20 years and have always been pleased.
