Before my cat received a dental cleaning, I informed the vet and his assistant that he might not be the best patient. They said they handle cats all the time, not to be worried. When I picked my cat up after surgery, I asked if there were any behavior problems (scratching) and was told "no" by BOTH vet and assistant. The next night, I noticed that each one of my cat's claws (front and back) were cut down to the quick. In fact, three of his claws were so short they were bleeding and cracked down the middle, causing one of them to be broken in half. I called twice asking what happened since I was not informed of any problems in the first place. Finally, I was told that my cat was friendly at first but then became "upset", which prompted them to cut his nails so "he could not climb over any barriers." She told me the doctor was scratched resulting in them cutting my cat's nails. I stated this was the first time I was hearing about anything negative, especially after four interactions with his office, and had to discover his butchered nails myself. My experience with this vet was so unfortunate and I will certainly never return. The vet appeared to be knowledgeable; therefore, I felt (notice the past tense used) confident leaving him there. HOWEVER, I caution prospective animal owners to think twice before taking your beloved pet to this facility.

I have been bringing my puppy here for a couple visits now. They are close to home so that's why I chose them. I didn't think I would like them that much after I got their price list (on the high end) but decided to go cuz they're close by. The Dr. is very nice and though he is a little hard to understand I can tell that he really knows what he is doing. They recommended a lot of things for each visit but explained to me the importance of each. I think a lot of people get overwhelmed by the estimates but you've got to understand they want whats best for your pet and you don't have to do it if you don't want! As for the post down below where they said this clinic only has one exam room... I think she is a bit off her rocker. This clinic has TWO exam rooms but what do you expect for a one doctor clinic? (She also seems to have complains about every vet she visits) Overall I really like it here. My kitten is well cared for and I will continue to come back because I like Dr. Liu and his staff and the fact that he remembers me every time I come back.

I will not take my pets to anyone BUT Dr. Liu at Carmel Valley Pet Clinic. I have been taking my pets to him for years. Although I cringe when the assistant brings in the list of prices, they understand that I have a budget and help when they can. The prices seem high, but I have been to places where you pay more for worse service. Dr. Liu knows ALL of my animals by name, he knows their medical history, it is easy to get an appointment with him, even if they are busy, they fit me in! His assistants spend time with me, they call me and update me a lot on my animals condition, or if one of them are due for a vaccine or something. Dr. Liu's clinic is small, close to home and convenient. Dr. Liu himself is wonderful with my cat who is a monster when she goes to the vet. He takes a personal interest in me and my family. I cannot say enough about this vet, I will not go to any others.

I have taken my pets to Dr. Liu many times. Although the prices seem high at first, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I have been to several other clinics cheaper than this vet, and I never get the service and care that Dr. Liu and his staff have provided for me. I like the fact that this clinic is small, it is easy to get an appointment and the staff is friendly. I recommend that anyone with pet's g to Dr. Liu for their care!

I brought my cat here recently, as I was worried about her being sick from the pet food recall. I should have known that when their schedules was completely free for an entire afternoon it wasn't a good sign. The tech didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. The vet was very rough handling my cat - she squeezed so much furball goo into the cat's mouth that it got all over her fur and me. She wouldn't allow the cat to swallow it when she was clearly struggling. They were expensive and had only one exam room. I had to go back the next day because they didn't run a necessary test the prior day. I would not recommend bringing your pet here!
