On August 4th I purchased pearl earrings for my wife's birthday. They were not what she wanted and we went to return them to Carnegie Jewelers. The person that assisted us was not friendly and looked puzzled when we said that we wanted to return these. She then for no reason made us wait until two other sets of customers left the store. At this time the other clerk said they due to COMPANY policy and according to the receipt we only had 7 days to return or exchange the items. My return was 3 days past their policy. They do have nice items there but really no different than other jewelry shops. I thought they were a small and personalized business but overall the attitudes are terrible including when I made the purchase. Yes they are correct noting the return policy on the receipt but they should have made mention of this when someone purchases something as a gift since it is a very short return time. So be careful if you plan on returning something since in my opinion 7 days is a very short window especially when purchasing simple earrings out of the case for $200.

Not only a beautiful selection of quality jewelery, but great business ethic as well. I had an antique wedding band re-sized and lost a diamond soon after. They replaced it without hesitation or cost to me. I cannot say enough good things about the owner and his staff.
