Depends, but for me eh.
Okay a year ago, I went to their casting call to be apart of JC. When I passed I was so happy, but then when I was signing a contract with my mother, there was a catch. Money ($2500 - paid in full). I have done research for other legigment agencies and found that we were once again played by these people (JC and Barbizon). I also passed the Avanti audition, and looked up reviews and found there is another oh great FEE! Seriously, these places have built up my confidence better than anything, but in the classes, I barely learned anything about acting. Stating that acting and modeling go hand in hand, but honestly, there are actors making good money being extras in LA. However, they are very nice people, but honestly to say I did talent scouting and mannequin modeling, and got a little bit of side money, but nothing huge. Yes, John Casablanca found Elite Modeling, but the thing is, we aren't getting the huge jobs like we should. Yes extra work is good for a resume, but in Hollywood or in acting in general, do you want to become known as an extra actor? Casting directors frown upon anyone ONLY doing EXTRA work. I found all my extra work on my own. Honestly, please sign up for sites like imdb pro or backstage pass because places like this want money and then you get classes, I have also found that you will get laughed at for being represented by them, but again, ITS WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT. I have also found some awesome people (friends) in these classes, but again. When I paid in full, I am getting my money's worth with unlimited photoshoots (other ones cost a ton of money). Personally, I think that actors or models should start around 13 because little kids in the entertainment industry have so much paper work, warning parents here. And if you are looking for classes on acting, take some theater classes or look in wilmington, that city is the best for filming. They are acredited by BBC, but the thing is real agencies want 10% and thats it, this place with Model and Talen

You have to actually WANT to do modeling or acting. Like REALLY WANT IT. Because it costs like $2000 and they just teach you to do stuff that has to do with modeling and acting. Otherwise, you have just lost $2000. I've done the program awhile ago and one person from there called be like I wasa a new customer asking if I was interested in modeling and/or acting. And then they called my little sister about is like 20 times and she's never done it before. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. They will tell you that you have something special and worth something. THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING! This is from my personal experiance. But you can actually do auditions and ""jobs"". Like audition for real things. But again, YOU HAVE TO WANT IT!! So if you're thinking about it, really really really really think about it! The class does improve you're self esteem and it helps you be more confident. But its a risk.. not really worth taking.. ~Think about it..

JC is a SCAM!!!!I have over 10 years experience over seas and in the U.SI never payed up front. Real agents take a percentage of your check after you done your job.My portfolio wasnt good enough but they looooved me so much till i said no to the ""training"" they were bugging me for a while and they finally gave up!All of you paying for them are stupid! They gave you a couple of jobs a month? How much did you make? :grin Get a manager and He/She will find you a job if you are pretty, talented or both!GOOD LUCK GUYS!

JC - BBB Certified
In my opinion, it sounds as if the majority of complaints are coming from people who were not motivated and committed enough to really take it seriously, pay attention in the lessons and utilize their advisors. For anyone thinking that an agent representing you will not take a cut of your earnings as a model/actor, 20% IS the standard amount. When I had my interview, my advisor made it absolutely clear to me that graduating from the training will NOT guarantee me a job or success in the modeling industry, the same as a Harvard Law student is not guaranteed to be a successful lawyer after graduating. If you get nothing else, you'll learn healthy habits and you'll learn how to be a better you. Like all life-altering decisions, I did extensive research about the company before deciding. Plus, I've been watching them for the last decade. The very first place I checked most recently was the BBB, where I found that there have been no complaints filed against the company. Also, I want to comment on the money thing. If you sign with an agency, you will not be asked for money; sometimes the agency may invest their money in you, even. JC is an academy to establish/improve your skills in many areas and then help you get work, and they even tell you up front that most of these areas you have classes in are also life lessons, not just meant for your modeling or acting career. JC does ask for money, and being as they are the most prestigious academy in their field (John Casablancas actually put models on the map like never before many, many years ago), they deserve it just like any other vocational training. I get the feeling that a lot of people are just sitting around waiting for the jobs to come to them after their training. They don't fall in your lap. This is not a get-rich-quick investment. You have to work for your return. I haven't actually started my training, but my advisor is being more than helpful considering my financial situation. He has offered many options and a

A Life Changing Experience
When I came to John Casablancas as a 12 year old I was a nervous, shy, and introverted child. I enrolled in classes at John Casablancas and my parents began to see a change immediately. John Casablancas offered life skills to me that I wouldnt have access to other wise. The classes were extremely extensive everything from what color socks to wear to match your outfit to how to put together a resume. It gives you confidence to do things outside of your comfort zone. Before standing in front of my classmates made me nervous, now I can stand in front of a group of 1,000 people and its second nature. The staff here works with you and goes out of their way to answer questions and make sure you are always comforitable and are more than willing to talk to you. I can honestly say I wouldn't be where I am today withour John Casablancas. It gave me the confidence to strive to do more and never settle. I can not thank this staff enough for treating each one of their models like family. This experience and things you learn here goes WAY past the modeling and acting industry, it gives you life skills that are needed to be successful.
