Dr.Castillo is late on her visits, and pretty much always out delivering babies, but thats what I love about her. She delivers our babies not the doctor on call. Would highly recommend her.

I went to Dr. Castillo because I had an ovarian cyst. Dr Castillo told me that my symptoms sounded like cancer and even though I am only 38 she recommend full adnominal hysterectomy. At the same visit she performed a biopsy of my uterus and also scheduled a sonogram of the ovary. I called the office a week later to get my biopsy results at a very rude women told me that they were fine. When I asked about the sonogram results she said they did not come in until the afternoon. When I check my messages later that day the nurse had called me that morning to tell me that the results were in. I called the next day and got the same rude women who told me that my results were normal. When I asked her about the cyst she said "oh yea there is a cyst. You need to decide what course of treatment you want to take." I told her that the doctor recommended a hysterectomy the women said "oh that's what you decided on?" At that time I said yes. The nurse was to call me back to schedule the surgery, after five days of no call back I called and she had never received my message. I was uncomfortable with the whole situation so I went for a 2nd opinion and was told today that there is no reason for a full hysterectomy for just an ovarian cyst.

Dr. Casillo and her staff are the worst doctors office I've ever delt with. I was using her with my first pregnancy. Throughout the pregnancy she would never take the time to discuss concerns with me. My appointments were always running late. Needless to say I changed doctors at 36 weeks pregnant and good thing I did. At about 35 weeks there were some complication that she completely disregarded. I ended up having to have a c-section at 37 weeks. My new doctor said if I had stayed with her my baby could have died. Please be careful if you have her as your doctor.

After two office visits with Dr. Castillo, I was very disappointed with her lack of concern regarding my debilitating condition. As I discussed with Dr. Castillo extensively, my symptoms included blood clots the size of golf balls, severe ovarian pain (most serious on my left side due to a fibroid the size of a nickel), acute intestinal pain along with constipation and diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, headaches, and chronic menstrual pain on most days of every month. What worried me most was the fact that my condition was worsening and I had known women who were ultimately diagnosed with cancer after suffering from these same problems. It had become very difficult to contend with my daily responsibilities and my resulting poor quality of life was totally unacceptable. Dr. Castillo's proposed remedy of scraping my uterus and using an IUD was not an adequate solution. Written materials about these conditions made it very clear that a hysterectomy was a viable option and a women's choice. I had tried many years of experimental treatments with no positive results. The happy ending: I switched doctors, received a hysterectomy and am doing GREAT!

I was miss diagnosed, and ended up having preeclampsia and had to deliver early due to lack of proper treatment with my first pregnancy. Dr. Castillo never knew my name, nor did she take my concerns seriously. I knew there was something wrong, I was having sever headaches, along with other COMMON symptoms. I have had a small amount of training in the medical field and know how to take someones BP, I knew mine was high, but the nurses, along with Castillo kept re-assuring me it was normal. I actually started to think I was crazy. Thank God I delivered at Mary Birch where the staff was competent. Needless to say with my second pregnancy, I have gone with a different OB and am VERY happy. Completely different experience. Had I known what I know now I would have switched doctor's immediately with the first pregnancy. I would NEVER recommend this doctor. She should not be practicing medicine. Dr. Castillo and her office staff were horrible. My review is not based on waiting time, or other common complaints. My review is based off of what could have been a life threatening mistake that should have never slipped through the cracks.

Wow!! All I can say is that I'm shocked to hear so many negative comments about Dr. Castillo! I'm ready to pop with my second baby and she has been my OB with both babies. I wouldn't have any other OB in the world! I go to the poway office and have never had a problem making an appt or getting in the same day if needed. I had to wait ONE time in the waiting room for 20 minutes past my appt time, but that was because she was delivering a baby. That's what OB's do!! People seem to forget that!! Dr. Castillo always spends as much time with me as I need and is caring and attentive to my questions and concerns. I would HIGHLY recommend her as an OB to anyone.

I went to see Dr. Castillo because I was having headaches associated with peri-menopause. She barely listened to my symptoms and then perscribed birth control for me which made my headaches worse! When I informed her office, they referred me to a neuroligist instead of even offering HRT! My daughter also saw her and she made some rude and embarrassing remarks to her. I do not reccommend her.

I went to Dr. Castillo for my first pregnancy. She never remembered me, was always rushing out of the room before answering my questions, broke my water without telling me that is what she was doing and, ultimately perfomed a c-section because she didn't have the patience to wait any longer. I felt like she was very uncaring and insensitive. I would not recommend her. Please do your research and think twice before putting your or your child's well-being in her hands.

I went to Dr. Castillo with my first child and was really happy with her and the office staff. I did drive up to Poway to avoid the 45min-1hr long waiting room wait at her La Mesa office. Most recently I had a miscarriage and the staff, including Dr. Castillo were extremely insensitive. The office staff would not get my message to her about problems I was having. Instead I was told to go to the ER. Even when I did finally get in to see her, I had to repeatedly tell the staff I was there due to miscarrying, waited 45min past my appointment time, and then Dr. Castillo was very abrupt and harsh with her diagnosis. I am currently expecting my 2nd child and shopping around for a doctor and office staff that care about people. I would NOT recommend this Dr. any longer. Which is sad, because 2 years ago she was great and her staff was much more capable.

I hate to say mean things about people, but I had such a horrible experience. It may have been a personality clash, but I have run into others with the same experience with this Doctor. Dr. Castillo had a bad way of saying things, and a self absorbed attitude. I had to call aquaintances in the medical field to straighten a few things out that she said incorrectly. I had anxiety attacks over the way I was treated. If I could turn back time I would have gone with my gut feeling and switched Doctors during my pregnancy. I still don't know why I didn't. It's been a few years, but I still have horrible feelings come up when I think about it.

Dr. Castillo was my OB/GYN for my first pregnancy. My experience was ok. She always had long wait times and I thought she was providing adequate care. Last year when I became pregnant a second time, I figured I would go back to her again. During my second month of pregnancy, I began experiencing some concerning symptoms. I went to see her and was told I was having a miscarriage and to go home and let nature takes it course. She said that all she saw was a "blob". When I did not receive a call from her office with the test results, I called multiple times requesting this information and was told various things as to why they were unable to give me the results. I went to an ultrasound specialist and was told that everything looked fine and the baby had a strong heartbeat. I waited for Dr. Castillo to call me with any tyoe of news...I now have a fourmonth old baby and am still waiting for a response from her office! That is a horrible thing for any woman to go through and to not get ANY response back is cruel and unprofessional! Needless to say, I found a new OB/GYN who is wonderful! If you are looking for an OB/GYN I couldn't give a higher recommendation to Dr. Yvonne Goff!

Dr. Castillo seemed capable when I first saw her, but I always felt we didn't connect. Thought it was just me until I heard stories from other women. The staff were nice, but disorganized. The final straw was when Dr. Castillo dismissively told me over the phone that I was not anemic...yet when I got the actual blood test results, I was definitely anemic, and suffering quite a bit, not knowing what was wrong. I hope these reviews help Dr. C. "step up her game"...I think she's got the potential.
