Castle For Brides

I had a great experience with the ladies at Castle for Brides from start to finish. They gave suggestions but weren't pushy and really listened to what I was telling them. As soon as I put my dress on I knew, and so did Wendi, co-owner of the store. She immediately gave me a veil and some fake flowers to hold so I could get the full effect! The alterations were done on site and I was very happy with the job their seamstress did. I can't thank everyone enough at Castle for Brides for making the entire dress experience so wonderful.

I had a GREAT experience at this location. No appointments needed which was a blessing!! Although they were nice enough to let me make one on a Sunday even though they aren't open then (something they are temporarily trying out). I worked with one of the owners (Wendi) via email before I went in to order a sample dress in of a dress I saw in a magazine. I tried it on, but thanks to the wonderful staff I also tried on a bunch of other dresses I wouldn't normally have picked. And low and behold the dress I didn't plan on at all was the one I selected! \r\rWendi was amazing and SO patient with me. I also noticed this salon had a GREAT range of sizes to try on. When other salons seemed to only have sizes 6 & 8's. Which I am neither. It was wonderful to not have to make an appointment, get the full experience with no timer, and not get a crazy sales pitch about how I have to buy *today* or the price goes up. They even ordered samples in of fabrics from the dress maker since I wanted it in satin instead of taffeta and wasn't sure which color satin would look best. \r\rReally enjoyed my experience and am ordering my dress from this shop. Can't recommend enough, especially since other shops were so stuffy and impersonal. Prices were extremely reasonable. Be sure to ask for Wendi!\r\r

I chose this place to order all of my bridesmaids' dresses because of a sale they were having. I ordered Dessy dresses and when they came in they were all drastically too big - at least one full size. We measured VERY carefully and followed all of their charts for choosing sizes. When I tried to get the store to help me by sending the dresses back to the company or paying for part of the expensive alterations, it was a disaster. I argued with one of the salesgirls (she actually shouted at me and it became so unprofessional that the other girl working there told her to go in the back, which she refused to do), was ignored for several days by the manager, and when I finally met with the manager she was of no help. I wasted hours of complaining and grief because of buying from this store.Bottom Line: Go elsewhere! I recommend Ginny's, which is very close by. I got my wedding dress there and was very happy with the service. Even better, avoid the bridesmaid dress thing altogether and go to Nordstrom or Macy's online. At least look at their sites before you buy. They have a huge selection of dresses of very similar styles. I know it sounds like you would be missing out on the really fun part of picking out bridesmaid dresses, but it ended up being way more headache than fun.

The first time I went in to have it fitted, I wasn't quite sure how to get there, so I called for directions (unfortunately I couldn't mapquest from my car). The girl on the phone gave me directions alright, I ended up in a little Asian community (it was defined as such) that was NOWHERE NEAR the store. After an hour and a half (should have been a 15-20 minute drive), I finally arrived. I was exasperated and was offered virtually no apology. The girl told me I should have ""mapquested"" it. Uh, nice.\r\rThe alterations person told me the dress would be ready on Saturday. The following Tuesday (a few days after it was supposed to be ready), I called to tell them I was on my way to pick it up. SO GLAD that I did. They weren't done with it yet. This was again Tuesday and it was supposed to have been ready by Saturday. They told me they would get someone in and have it ready the next day. Two days later I called again and they didn't have it steamed. So I told them I had to come, and they called someone in to steam it. \r\rWhen I finally headed out I again called for directions (yes, my stupid mistake, but I was in a hurry and it was a last minute decision to go), as I still had no idea how to get there. The girl on the phone was an older lady, an assistant manager. She told me to take Harbor Blvd. WEST from the 405 and that I would eventually run into Westminster. I felt I was going too far and called her back and she told me to just keep going. I came to PCH 20 minutes later and called her extremely frustrated. She said, ""Oh yeah, I realized I gave you the wrong directions as soon as we hung up."" REALLY?? You are kidding, right? The woman had my PHONE NUMBER sitting there on my order with my freaking dress. She didn't feel the need, apparently, to call me back to fix her mistake.
