Cat Care of Vinings is a well-established, full-service, feline veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
Cat Care of Vinings was designed as a sanctuary for cats---"even the most nervous and anxious of breeds can be attended to here no matter how serious the condition." Dr. Mike believes cats require special emotional support in addition to traditional, species-specific medical care.

This veterinary clinic changed my catís entire life. My cat had some severe dental problems last winter. I was reluctant to go through with the procedures because I didnít know the Doctor very well.... But, I cannot stress how happy I am with this clinic. Everyone treats the cats with love and care, and they treat the people with respect and offer great advice. You can actually tell the employees care about the animals, and want to help. My cat is happy and playful because of this clinic. I have actually moved farther away, but I still choose to drive a little further and bring my cat here because this clinic is phenomenal.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We have been going to Cat Care of Vinings for many years - it may be a little pricey but well worth it. Dr Mike has two great vets working with her (just recently met Dr Maasen and she is excellent)... the staff at the clinic can not be surpassed, they are more than awesome! I have always taking my cats to cat-only vets to avoid the noise and chaos of vet offices that also treat dogs. CCV is a warm, quiet environment that helps my nervous cat feel more comfortable. Dr. Maasen is compassionate and very analytical in determining causes of illnesses and their treatments. The vet techs and office staff are skilled, helpful and friendly. A+
You never want to think that something can go wrong with your fur baby, but when it does you want to find someone you can trust to look after their well-being. At Cat Care of Vinings, every person that works there demonstrated care. Everything was well explained and I felt I was leaving my Zeke in good hands. I received phone calls updating me on his progress and asking how he was after I took him home. They are compassionate and knowledgeable about cats and that is what really matters.
Where do I begin? There are so many positives about Cat Care of Vinings. This practice is unlike any other I have ever dealt with. Sure, I have been blessed with wonderful veterinary doctors before, but this entire practice is on a whole other level. I felt very overwhelmed after finding a 7 week old cat, with many problems, and am extremely fortunate to have taken her to Cat Care of Vinings. The environment is relaxing and the staff are comforting and supportive. They take time to listen to you, answer questions, offer guidance and compassion, and give frequent and welcome updates. They are also highly knowledgeable and take a holistic approach to treatment. I feel sure that little Isabelle will soon recover because she is getting the best, loving care she can possibly receive. Soon Cat Care of Vinings will have two new patients when I bring my other cat babies, Frank and Jarah, to meet Dr. Mike and the entire CCV team.
Cat Care of Vinings provides excellent care for our cats. Dr. Mike has the knowledge and all the technology needed to provide any services required. She explains the options and costs and provides an honest opinion, always taking into account the cat's well-being and as they age, their quality of life. She guided us through KoKo's last few senior years and helped us know when it was time to let him go. CCOV is now taking care of our two very energetic Bengals. All the staff is great and I recommend them to all cat parents.
Cat Care of Vinings After having taken my beloved 12 yo cat to a vet near me, and 2 different emergency centers on Saturday and Sunday over a 4 day period, I frantically began searching for a "cats only" vet. I called CC of Vinings in tears on Monday to explain my situation. Dr. Megan Maasen examined him and shared her opinion and recommendations in an unhurried and compassionate manner. She went through various options and costs to help me make an informed decision. She let me know she wouldn't be there the next day but would be back the following day. I left him overnight for IV meds. As I was leaving one of the techs gave me a hug and reassured me. The next day Dr. Mike and Dr. Palmer were very attentive and consultative. I was grateful they allowed me to sit at Tubbs' cage with the door open so I could pet and comfort him. The technicians were skilled and compassionate as well. One showed me the best way to syringe feed. By the next day it was clear he wasn't responding to trx and was suffering. Dr. Maasen agreed it was time to let him go. I have always held my cats when euthanized and was allowed to sit alone holding Tubbs as long as I needed. They also take care of a cat ("Mr. Hitch") whose back legs are paralyzed. They diaper him and put him in a "onesie" and he hops around the clinic "helping" the techs, and 2 other cats live there. I'm so grateful I found them.
There are some significant differences between CCOV and places like Petsmart. My poor kitty Mopsey had her tail cut off a few years ago and the Petsmart Doc said he could not book surgery until 2 days later! Dr. Mike took her right away and did the surgery. Then she made sure Mopsey was not in pain during recovery. I could give you other examples but suffice it to say that I would never trust my cat to a Pet Doc in a Box again.
I have had cats my whole life and have used many veterinarians over the years. Cat Care of Vinings provides the best care I have ever received for my "kids"-cats. Dr Michael Friedlander and Dr Palmer as well as the well trained staff are extremely knowledgable and competent in the care of cats. It is very evident from the treatment my cats have received with each and every visit. Equally as important, they treat my cats as well as me with great care, respect, and compassion. My cat Hunter developed a severe case of pancreatitis and I know that had it not been for the excellant medical treatment that Hunter received from all of the staff at CCOV, he would not be with me today. They treat their patients as if they were their own. My cats are my children and I am so grateful that I have such a superb place to go to for the care of my kids!! Thank you Cat Care of Vinings!! My cats Hunter, Jack, and Scout say thank you too!!
Been taking the precious cargo here for years. Dr. Mike and her outstanding staff have always treated us right and helped us with our siamese cats. We have two new ones and they will see dr. Mike as long as she is there. Don't go to no dog vet for your cat. See Dr. Mike.
I took my kitty to this vet for a checkup and have since been using them to help control his CRF. Dr. "Mike" if fabulous, always willing to spend the needed time to help me understand my cat's issues at hand.
You can feel confident that your cat is getting the best care available at Cat Care of Vinings. Dr. Michael Friedlander is experienced, capable, kind, and caring with my cat and with me. Her staff is also excellent. Besides the excellent care for my cat, Michael also educated me on what I need to do to take care of my cat, such as vaccinations and heart worm prevention. This is a top notch feline veterinary hospital with a top notch staff!
I am as particular about my pets care as I am my own so I wanted to find a vet that was able to make my pet feel comfortable and happy. My cat is a domestic long hair and recently had diarrhea. I tried to bathe her but because of her long hair there was matting and it was just really uncomfortable for her. From the moment I arrived I felt comfortable with the staff. They asked questions and provided solutions that I am sure will be most helpful. The front desk receptionist is also very kind! Makes the visit worthwhile! I have already made an appointment for my youngest cat Max! I will definitely recommend this vet clinic to other cat owners like me! Thanks to Cat Care of Vinings for the awesome treatment today!
The staff are personable and professional. Scheduling appointments and kennel service is easy and accommodating.
First let me say - I have an extremely difficult kitty at the vet. Most vets do not have the time or patience to figure out the issue even if they have the knowledge to treat the problem. Kitten is now 13 and started having trouble this year with food allergies. The thought of having to take her to the vet repeatedly for a chronic condition was a scary prospect. Fortunately, I found Dr. Mike. She spent about 20-30 minutes just sitting in the room with me talking and letting my cat get used to her being there. She patiently and quietly sat looking out the window with her until she was calm enough to just remove from her carrier. After looking her over Dr. Mike recommended a number of tests to be sure that we thoroughly got to the bottom of her issues. She took the time to explain clearly what each procedure was and made sure I understood why she was doing it and the costs involved. She was doing well on her meds but suddenly developed an unrelated condition, pancreatitis. Dr. Mike again took a thorough and careful look at diagnosing the problem. She had to stay two days at the office which was very difficult for us financially but the right thing to do for kitten. The quality of treatment and unbelievable care with which my kitten was treated are priceless to me especially as kitten moves into her later years. I wouldn't take her anywhere else.
