There used to be a big restaurant in Symrna called Uncle Bud's. Very good food. This is the same guy from what I hear. The chicken is good. The all you can eat hushpuppies are good. The rest is pretty good. My family likes it. Jim would go a lot farther if he acted like my uncle. I mean part of the appeal is personality, friendliness. That's what I liked about Uncle Bud's, the people were down home good folk.

I did not enjoy dining at this restaurant. The catfish was just okay but nothing special. The sides were terrible. The macaroni and cheese taste as if it was from a box. The cole slaw was finely chopped cabbage with watered down mayo. The tarter sauce sits on each table with the ketchup, salt and pepper (I don't think this is safe). This restaurant appears to be a poor imitation of Uncle Bud's Catfish. I will not be returning.

With the excellent quality of the catfish-freshly prepared, hot, tasty, and not greasy at all-all Jim needs to do is bump up the decor and get the sides from sub-par to good-and he will rule the catfish world in this corner of town.
