I contacted Central Plumbing Heating and Air after contacting several plumbing companies in North County with no success. I could not get anyone to come out, until I contacted Central Plumbing Heating and Air. I had been referred to Central Plumbing Heating and Air from my parents. Throughout the entire process, they were very professional and courteous, and the technician that came out really knew what he was doing and kept me informed and told me what he was doing the entire time. At the end of the day (I had a lot of work that needed to be done), he then educated me on a few things that I could do just for maintenance. Overall, an excellent experience!!

I first used Central Plumbing at my home when I needed some sink supply lines changed. Our appointment time was at 1pm and they were there EXACTLY at 1pm! That in itself was amazing, that a contractor was on time. I then directed them to the sink and opened the sink door to find i forgot to move all my stuff, they said no problem and moved it all out, they changed out the lines, then when done, wiped down completely under the sink even though they did not make a mess. I have used other plumbers in the past and have felt like I was taken advantage of. That is the total opposite of Central Plumbing. They came and had my drains fixed in no time and cleaned up the "mess" like it wasn't even there. They did this all for a very reasonable rate. Referred my grandmother and she also was very satisfied with the service. Now I never have to worry about finding a good plumber. Thanks Central!

I called Central at the recommendation of a friend when I had a problem with a broken faucet. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable, he explained the options and pricing to me, and did a great job. I will definitely use them again and will be recommending them to my friends too.

Unbelievable! We called Central Plumbing to do a routine gas shut-off for a clothes dryer, which involves unscrewing the gas connection on the dryer and and screwing an end-cap on the supply line. It takes less than five minutes to do this and a five-dollar part (if you don't already have one). Central's plumber showed up and announced it would be $210 to do it! We refused to be over-charged and capped the gas line ourselves. Naturally, I agreed to pay his $39 service call and gave him $40 cash, to which he replied that he didn't carry any change! Hard to believe that a plumber who over-charges like that didn't have a dollar in his wallet. CALL AT YOUR OWN RISK!

We would like to respond to your review posted on 11/23/09 pertaining to our service call to your home. It is unfortunate that you choose to post such a mean-spirited and inaccurate review before making any attempt to resolve this matter with us. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and we would have made every attempt to resolve this in a more amicable manner.
Our technician assessed your needs and quoted you a price of $210 to do the complete job of pulling your dryer out, shutting off the gas at the main meter, removing your gas connector and shut off, as per your request, and then capping off the ½" gas line. At that point, he would turn the gas back on at the meter, check for gas leaks, relight all pilots and check operation of all gas appliances. Obviously, this is not a simple five minute job as you stated. We can only assume that you called a professional contractor out because you wanted the job done correctly and safely. That is what is required to do the job properly. When you told the technician you weren't happy with the pricing, he even offered to reduce the price to $173 by giving you a coupon discount (even though you didn't actually have the coupon). At that point, you declined to have the work done and paid the $39 service charge you had agreed to pay. As far as the cash issue, our technicians do not typically carry cash on them to make change. We accept all major credit cards and checks and it is very rare that we are paid in cash. Customers that choose to pay with cash usually have the exact amount. Called central to do maintenance on an older (over 25 years old) furnace and that is exactly what they did. They didn't do a big sales pitch for a new furnace, just made sure the one I have is running safely. Perfect.

$258 to unclog an overflow drain that took less than 30 minutes? Never again will these people set foot in my house! Wouldn't give a price over the phone, had to come out, minimum $79 charge, waived if they did the work. Waived? How about tripled?

We were quite surprised by your review and wish you would have contacted us to try and resolve this matter in a more professional and amiable manner. We strive for complete customer satisfaction and feel our pricing structure is in line for the quality of work and warranty we provide. We would like to respond and clarify a few items that you mis-quoted or failed to mention. First, you called on July 21st in the morning and since you were a repeat customer, we squeezed you in during a very busy time in the middle of the heat wave and gave you same day service. We quoted you our standard diagnostic charge over the phone which is the only price we can give site unseen. Once we arrived at your home, our technician assessed the situation, performed diagnostic tests on your equipment and determined that your condensate drain was blocked. At that time, he gave you an exact price for the repair from our Up Front Pricing Guide and you authorized us to proceed with the repair. Our technician made the repair and got your air conditioner in working order again. You signed the invoice after the job was completed stating you were satisfied with the work completed, we accepted a $10 off coupon you presented to the technician and you paid the balance due of $248.88. The technician was onsite from 3:40 until 4:26 so your statement that we were there less than 30 minutes is not true. As we stated above, you were given the price for the repair up front and you made the choice to have the repair done at that time for that price. If you were not happy with the price, why did you authorize us to proceed with the work? Please contact us if you wish to discuss this matter in greater detail. Thank you, Roland Harman, President.
The technician came out to tune-up my AC unit, but may have helped to save my life in the process. He noticed some dangerous loose wires in the attic that caused the hall light to flicker on and off when the line was touched. I had the problem repaired right away. I am a contractor and I call Central Plumbing for all of my plumbing and heating and air conditioning needs. The company shows up on time, they are professional and the price they quote is the price you pay. No trickery or mark ups. Central plumbing is the plumber that contractors call so you know they are good and the prices are fair.

I called Central out to check my furnace that didn't seem to be working quite right. The service man took a look at my system and recommended their tune up and cleaning service. He did a thorough check and cleaning of my furnace. The service man was professional and explained everything to me in detail. He cleaned up after himself and even wore shoe coverings to make sure he didn't track in any mess from outside from all the rain we just had. My furnace is now working great and I feel like the $109 I paid for the service was well worth the price for the peace of mind knowing that my furnace is working safely and efficiently. I will definitely call on them again in the future and will recommend them to my family and friends.
