Exceeded My Expectations!, 2/04/2013

I brought my mother's car (2001 Acura CL) to Certified Transmissions after a referral from my trusted mechanic. There were a few bumps in the road on the repair but at every interval we received a... call with an updated timeline on when the car would be finished & alternatives on what could be done at various price points. We were also VERY pleased to have the owner, John, personally handle the repair & was FANTASTIC in offering cost-cutting solutions when it became evident that the transmission would need to go from being repaired to being replaced (which we had already been told by another shop). A few days after the transmission replacement, a sensor light came on & it too needed to be replaced (after googling it we found that this is a very common issue in Acuras that have had trannys replaced). John had us bring the car back in & replaced the sensor free of charge & in 1 day!!! Can't say enough how impressed I was with the service & ownership, would highly recommend this shop!!! Thanks John!

DO NOT GO THERE, 12/01/2011

I work for a nonprofit that works with disabled adults. For the last 2 years we been sending our fleet vehicles for transmission repair. I have also sent them my personal vehicle. 3 company... vehicles and my own has had to be sent back to be repaired again, sometimes 2 or 3 times. So, we had another mechanic check it out and the mechanic showed us how the transmissions has been colored to look new or replaced and the sensors has been changed. They hold the vehicles for weeks and wont answer your calls and when you do get to talk to someone, they tell you they'll call you back and never return your call. I wouldnt recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Our Hero's

My experience in Marietta was just the opposite and I was surprised by the level of customer service that I received. My 2002 Ford Explorer which is driven by my teenage son left him stranded just before 5:00 pm and on a busy road while I was out of town. My son walked about a half a mile to Certified Transmission and spoke with Edgar who jumped into action and drove straight to our stranded car. He was able to assist us getting the vehicle towed to his shop and gave my son a ride back to our home. The next morning I was contacted with the news that we needed a new torque converter. I appreciate the kindness shown to my son and quick action and correct diagnostic that repaired our car correctly the first time. The best news is that we have driven over 5000 since the repair and we are still running smooth. Thank you, Certified Transmission and all of your staff! When we need you we will be back...

This place is a joke...

I can sum up this business in one word - unprofessional. The complete failure to communicate was the worst part of my experience. When you entrust someone to take care of your vehicle and you can't get them on the phone for days at a time, you begin to wonder how these guys are still in business.

Nightmare!!

Have had our car in there twice for the transmission. First repair failed within 4 months. Second time in it took over a week to get the car back. Uncommunicative, never called back when asked for updates. I'm holding my breath that the second transmission works and that I never have to deal with these people again!

This company does not know what they are doing

I first took my jeep to them they told me I would have jeep back in 3days it was 3weeks I had to take it to them 7times with-in 2months they never fixed it and during this time I took my dads truck to them and they fixed trans in it to had it 1day and trans went out after they said it was fixed so I had to cut ties with them all I can say they do not know how to fix anything

A Plus

I have been using Certified Transmission for five years and I am very pleased with their service and prices. I have had three transmissions rebuilt there and one clutch. They have looked at my cars without charging me when other repair shops have recommended services that were not needed.

Good Luck!

< 1 star - Horrible experience. Was lied to about parts, cost, timeframe etc..they broke the power steering unit while fixing transmission (which they fixed at a later date) I told them I would call Clark Howard and the BBB - their response? "Go ahead everybody else does too"
