I love Charlies Original Oyster King. Their seafood is the best in Atlanta. You will never want any other Oyster once you have Charlie's Special Oysters....they are heaven on a cracker. Hole in the wall joint with the most delicious food. Their fried shrimp is to die for too. Go and eat...you wont regret it.

Not bad but not great, it really has lost alot of the touch it used to have. The quality of the food seems lees than it origionaly was but its still oysters, I do have to say Hooters is better and has better things to look at. For around the same price

My husband and I will go there for the food only. The prices are good and the oysters are great. My husband had the catfish and they were huge and you got a lot of food. The decor does leave a little to be desired, but it is the only place I will go for oysters.

Missing our prior home on the coast, we've looked for a good, everyday seafood restaurant up here. They're hard to find, but I finally broke down and tried Charlie's despite it's slightly run-down exterior. Turns out the exterior is the upscale part! The inside is frankly atrocious, with old booths, multiple layers of old linoleum with large swaths of bare concrete. Food seemed a bit pricey, especially for "6 fried shrimp," when I'm used to 12 or 15. Still, when it came, they were fairly large and I had a bonus 7th on the plate. They were surprisingly good and quantity was fine; I could barely finish everything. Perhaps expectations are so lowered by the looks, that the food really comes through. Despite a bar and pool tables on one side, the dining side seemed to be families and couples around dinner time when I went. This may not be the spot for a romantic dinner, but worth a try.
