Being new to the area we took a chance on Mr. Chisenhall to do our taxes. Our Saturday meeting was a waste of an hour. He sat down with a legal pad and pencil and took notes about our situation. He told us we wouldn't be able to itemize, and I wanted to turn around and take my documents right then & there and do our own taxes on TurboTax (which would take us 15 minutes to complete). An ethical CPA would have suggested that. Instead, he asked that we fax him our Goodwill receipts (?) on Monday. My husband and I agreed we would not use him, and my husband called him first thing Monday morning to tell him we would pay for his consultation, but we'll do our own taxes. He said it was too bad, he already did our return (without our documents?) and when I went to pick up our originals, he gave me a bill for $350. Our return took him 10 minutes to complete based on standard deductions. My husband called him to see why he billed so much, and he told my husband we were wasting his time, and hung up on him.
