This cigar store has a very impressive collection of cigars, humidors and accessories. I am also surprised with some of the negative postings regarding service. My experience is totally the opposite and will always go there.

No interest in winning new customers. My first time in the store I was looking for a specific brand. Owner told me, "I knew you weren't going to buy anything". My second time in the store he gave me a hard time about redeeming a manufacturer's voucher for a new smoke. He said he shouldn't honor it and said I should take the voucher somewhere else when he is clearly listed as a dealer. This owner would rather chase customers away with insults rather than win them over with good service. I can never recommend these guys and don't see how they can last with the constant bad press.

First, the good points: The store had a pretty good selection of cigars and accessories, with some decent deals on sampler packs. Now, the bad: The employee had TERRIBLE customer service. He acted completely annoyed that I was in his store. After looking over the selection for a bit, he asked if I would be needing any help today, and when I responded "no", he rolled his eyes and walked away. And that was it! This guy just shuffles back and forth between the back of the store and the front, is not friendly or accomodating whatsoever, and seems thoroughly annoyed with owning/working at the store. With all the cigar stores in the area, I will NEVER go back to Cigars Plus.

This review is based on service only, but Kudzu forces ratings on quality, service, and value. So I thought I'd try a different cigar store last week so I stopped in to buy a torch lighter. After checking out a few and settling on one the owner said he personally guarantees (@ $24.00), I began asking about some cutters with the lighter in my hand. Having been let down by a lot of torch lighters, my first test is seeing if it lights every single time. As I'm looking at the cutters and lighting the lighter for about the 5th test time, the owner reaches across the counter and takes it from my hand saying "You already know it works". Excuse me, but I really didn't know if it worked yet. And if he guarantees it, it should stand up to ten or so strikes without any serious damage. I see that other people rate the place about like I do, so maybe they had similar experiences with the owner. I liked the lighter and bought it anyway, but if it breaks I'll probably just throw it away and not waste time dealing with this guy again.
