My daughter's Hall Street unit was covered with mold and mildew. CityBlock refused to do anything about it. Screens dangled from the windows and wasp nests with buzzing insects lived in most rooms. The carpets were stained & disgusting when the kids moved in. Virtually everything in this CityBlock-owned property was in bad shape. CityBlock has no compunction about bilking students (first-time renters) with their expensive, yet neglected properties. If you still decide to do business with CityBlock, you may want to kiss your security deposit good-bye. They maintain a good percentage of money that's not theirs, to cover the basic maintenance that landlords routinely do between tenants: i.e. painting. They had the nerve to charge for carpet cleaning when they had receipts showing the carpets were just cleaned. (See above paragraph for condition of said carpets when my daughter moved in.) Georgia law dictates that deposits be returned within 30 days of vacating a property. CityBlock doesn't abide by that either. If you're looking for a CityBlock rental by UGA, my advice is 'keep looking.' These are horrible people to do business with.
