At first, I thought the location and price were a good deal until I moved in. This complex lures you in with a good price and then tacks on a water and gas bill to heat the boilers that is outrageous (over $100 per month). That is on top of your regular gas bill for heat in your apartment. From the first week I moved in, there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from one of the other nearby apartments (for some reason the ventilation system in the apartments are tied together). I notified the staff right away about this and they have never done anything about the problem and don't seem to care. Dog owners constantly let their dogs defecate on the grounds without picking it up and there is no recourse. The pool which was supposed to be opened up on Memorial day was not open until after July 4th. The owners seem much more concerned about their new construction project on the property than they are about the current paying residents. And construction truck run constantly through the property all day long starting bright and early at 8 am. Keep away from this property. There are certainly better alternatives.

I lived here for the first year that I was in Atlanta before buying a place of my own. Excellent location, great management and lots of space made these slightly older apartments a great community to live in. They have garages available and they have an excellent wash and fold laundry service for free!

The Maintenance is really, really bad. It takes them over a year to get my alarm system fixed. It took them over 6 months to fix and replace by bath tub and while they were repairing my bathroom, they simply told me that I could go next door to the vacant apartment and take my showers there - (no shower curtain, no heating and air ??) What business would do something like this? Well obviously, Colonial Homes!!! People are moving out because of the new management that has moved it! HOrrible Horrible

You can't beat the location of these split level and single story apartments located between Bobby Jones Golf Course and Peachtree. The neighborhood is beautiful with plenty of green space, and the neighbors are all friendly. The leasing office has used such perks as daily laundry service and chick-fil-a biscuits on Fridays to attract residents. The complex has a pool and adequate excercise room. I lived there for my last two years of college and one year after, and I was always happy with what I received for my rent (well below the neighborhood's average)

Colonial Homes is an Atlanta institution with an amazing history. I lived there for 3 years; it's right on Bobby Jones golf course a block off Peachtree. You can't beat the location for the price... and they are SO spacious with great light! It attracts such a great mix of people - everything from people right out of college, to young marrieds, to people who have been there since the 1960s! Anne Rivers Siddons writes about Colonial Homes in her books set in Atlanta in the 1960s. Jayne Mansfield lived here... they were built in 1947. I truly can't say enough great things about this place! If they ever went condo I'd buy one in a second. I cried when I moved out to buy a house.
