I started with them and because the amount of work I need I decided to stay until I can move to another dentist. I have pretty good insurance, yet my out of pocket cost was way over priced.

I went in for a 'Free' consultation as advertised in the yellow pages. The xrays I brought from another dentist were not acceptable so they did their own(complimentary). The dentist was nice and did spend time explaining his treatment plan. I then went into a small office for a video on misaligned bite and afterwards spoke to his councelor. Now all of this did take time, but I did not question their procedure. Upon leaving the office I was asked "How do I intend to pay for this visit?" "Pay for the visit" I said "I understood this was a free consultation!" "Well, it was very detailed and so there is a 90 dollar charge" she said. "No, it was a free consultation" I repeated. Again she asked for the money. I ended up paying 75 dollars for a free consultation! They have an obligation to tell people if they have "used" up the "free" time as far as I'm concerned! I did not have a choice to continue or to leave. I was simply following their lead. I spoke to the staff twice before I came in and could have been told either on the phone or at the least when I came in that there might be a charge. I think it was wrong to have charged me for something I had no control over.
