Very dissapointed!
We moved to the Henry county area and chose this Dr to take our son to. I took my son by myself to the 1st appointment and was very dissapointed with the dr's bedside manner and her arrogance. We took my son back again 2 more times (this time I took my husband with me) just to see if the first immpression wasn't accurate. But, after 3 visits to this dr. we have decided to change to another pediatrician for our son. The dr is very arrogant, not personable at all, does not even try to make the child feel safe or comfortable, and can be rude at some times. We will not be going back to this dr, I will be picking up my sons's medical records and going to a new dr.

Arrogant is not a strong enough word.
I am a mother of 5 who is also a nurse. I chose to not share the fact that I was a nurse with the doctor and since he made no attempt to even try to get to know me it was no problem. I took my child in because we are very new to the area and my child has been VERY sick for over a month. I felt he was arrogant and in fact my husband said he was quite certain that no matter what we had answered him he would have dismissed it as unimportant and found some way to find fault with us as parents. I felt he was extremely rude and was embarrassed by the fact that I didn't just leave with my child but I was trying to make the best of it. He ordered a basic unreliable test and dismissed our concerns as if we knew nothing. I would encourage you to go to an after hours clinic if you need a doctor rather than this man. After my visit Many of my friends told me that they no longer use him because of his hideous bedside manner. The worst part was he never once introduced himself to my son or even talked to him in his eyes. My son has a lot of sensory issues and when we left he told me "that DR. doesn't know how to act because he doesn't look at your eyes when he talks to you. He should go to therapy." That might be the only funny part of the day.

Best Pediatrician in Henry County
I was so dissapointed in reading the reviews for Dr. Pulliam and his staff. I have read so much material on child development through the American Academy of Pediatrics, follow Parents Magazine like my second Bible and currently have been taking many college courses in Child Development and Care. I am not an expert but I have to admit that I know more than the average Joe. In saying this, when we moved to McDonough last June, I had a very difficult time finding a pediatrician. Many friends of the Mom's group I joined told me about Dr. Pulliam. I tried it out for a check up and was overly pleased. No the office is not a state of the art playground in the waiting room but there is no wait so who needs it? Yes Dr. Pulliam can seem rushed or too fast but I recognize through the information that he does commmunicate that he is highly intelligent and knows exactly what he is talking about so there is no need to himha around this and that. I have noticed that he studies the files before the appointment so he knows what is norm and what is not norm for your child based on previous visits so this may explain why he is not chatty with too many questions. He also has ALWAYS asked me if there were any questions before he walks out of the room so if you don't feel as though you got your amswer then speak up and he will answer. I would rather have a Dr. who is actively studying AAP than have a chatty people person Dr. with a cool waiting room.

Surprised by negative reviews!
After four years, I haven't once regretted switching from McDonough Pediatrics to Covenant Care. On our first visit to Dr. Pulliam's no-frills office, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to wait at all. The nurse was very friendly and so was Dr. Pulliam. Whereas some people find his personality short or rude, I think he may be just be shy. When I had concerns regarding the safety of certain vaccinations, Dr. Pulliam didn't treat me like an imbecile. He discussed the subject with me at length, recommended some books on immunizations, told me which vaccinations his kids received (which was none of my business, but much appreciated), and offered his medical opinion. In short, he respected my intelligence and that it was ultimately my decision--as a parent--to make. Their office is very strict about scheduling so that I've never had to wait. While they have sick and well areas, my children have never been exposed to another child in the office. If I have a question, I can usually call and speak directly to a nurse. On one occasion, when I raised a question with Dr. Pulliam about my bill, he believed that I had been mistakenly charged for a vaccination, and I received a check from his office in the mail the next day. If you want fancy exam rooms, flat screen TVs, and full waiting rooms, try another office. If you want a caring doctor who respects your opinion and attends to you promptly, visit Dr. Pulliam. (By the way, he has 8 children himself.)

Disappointing
It was my child's first time here and I was so disappointed with the doctor. He was rude, short with me and he acted as if he didn't have time to answer my questions. He spent NO time in getting to know my child's history or problems; everything was so quick and not in a good way! He won't see us again.
