The service was ok, internet was fast. But every month a different amount would appear on my bill. They would creep up the charges about 3-5 dollars each month. This was after their start up special expired. After contacting their customer service, they could not explain it to me and would reverse the charges. Finally left them over this when by bill jumped $10 one month and switched to direct tv/dsl. I was shocked at how much better the HD looked on direct, I didn't expect that.

Cox Communications supplies the fastest internet service available at great prices. The connections are stable and reliable and the channel lineups are full of choices to suit my needs.

I recently relocated to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, and was a dedicated Direct TV customer. I decided to call Cox, as we are renting and needed to go through the long process of HOA approval if we wanted to stay with Direct TV. Beware- The service representatives tell you what you want to hear just to get you to switch-- I was quoted a package price of 65.00 per month for my channel preferences, two boxes, and DVR box. I asked for the Center Ice package to be added to my services. The installer was to come that day between 1-5. No installer-- I call, apparently I was wrong;they say it was scheduled for the following day from 1-3. Um, ok.... Installation went fine. However, two days later, no Center Ice package channels. I call-th I had never ordered the package. Um, ok.... At this time, I am wary- and rightfully so. I ask for a confirmation of my monthly rate. Oh, that is 90.00 they say. However, new customers from Direct TV are to be given free DVR service as a "thank you" for transferring-but I (the rep) can't do that for you. After going through SIX different representatives (even one in Baton Rouge that claimed I did not hold an account) and one arrogant, smarmy supervisor, I was told that I could not have possibly been told that quoted price, and that there is no such thing as free equipment- that I can't have been told that. Um, ok.... I told them at that point that I would be canceling effective Friday due to non-disclosure of fees and add ons.

However, they lack in the customer service department. You will have to troubleshoot your problem with a computer before you talk to a real person. They also tend to speak to the customer as if the customer knows nothing about a computer or their home network. The service (internet) itself is great, and doesn't go out very often.

worst Liars - I was given the # for commercial billing department because Cox phone reps do not have the ability to transfer calls. Phone reps cannot transfer phone calls - just die

Cox is the best in Vegas for cable, internet & phone service. The staff is always friendly & very helpful. My service has never been interrupted in the year I have had it unlike dish that goes out every time it gets windy.

When I call my friend's back home and we are talking cable and I will brag about how "great my service is with Cox." There is an awkward silence. Then I explain it's my cable service. Anyhoot, it's all about the bundle. The convenience of all the good stuff on one bill and with a proven JD Powers for the high quality phone service how can you complain? The best product with the cable is the on demand aspect. I love it and my friends call it hangover helper. The DVR has made my dealing with the girlfriend's reality show obsession a lot more tolerable. When she has the option to fast forward through em it goes by so much faster. Finally, the customer service (even the voice prompts are tolerable.) is amazingly good. You can beat not being tied in with a contract.

I have had cable service for about 20 years with Cox, and have had high speed internet for about as long as they have had it. The customer service for both is very good. The internet techs have helped me with many things, usually something we did. I have rarely had any trouble with my cable service, but on the rare occations I did, they took care of it right away.

I work from home about 70% of the time, and rely heavily on my Cox internet connection. Although the percentage downtime has only been on the order of 5%, it's significantly greater than is appropriate for a major high speed internet access vendor, and has significantly hampered my work efforts. I wish there were another Cable competitor in the area to get Cox to clean up their act. I hope the recent upgrades they've been making will limit the downtime.

Cox cable sucks!! It has been terrible right from the start and only gets worse, it's expensive, and it's customer service is at best mediocre and even still the problem is not always guaranteed to be fixed without agressive customer followup. I've had billing problems for the past six months, spoke to 5 different reps and explained the problem five different times concerning my internet service cost and only after the fifth time, after I got a name and an employee number did the bill get corrected. Currently my cable signal is out, I tried to call Cox cable for a remedy and the number is busy...WTF. Cox U are loosing another client to direct TV... soon!!!!

Cox is horrible. They don't care about the average person. I transferred to a new house and paid $100 to transfer and set up my service. I sat on the phone for 40 minutes because I didn't have any phone or internet service. Then they told me that it was an oversight on the technicans part that they didn't resetup my modem. I finally got online and then my email didn't work. So I had to call back for another 40 minute call. They informed me that my account had been reset and that my email password had been changed. Why didn't I get this information from the beginning. Last but not least, my emails that are secondary were reset and LOST....screw cox! LET'S BOYCOTT! They are the only cable and high speed internet service available in Vegas. That is crap! They can do whatever they want because they have no competition. AAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
