I trust my Lexus dealer with complex issues but the costs at the Lexus dealer are huge. These guys are a solid, local shop who can do most maintenance and small repair/troubleshooting work. We have used them a number of times over the years.

That said, they seem to have some trouble in dealing with /troubleshooting electrical issues. This could be due to not having someone on the team with the right skill set.

They also don't seem to have a "front facing" customer service person so attitude and helpfulness depend on who you get to talk to. While they are all professional and helpful they can be very direct and to the point, sometimes verging on rude, especially on the phone.

I took my '93 TOYOTA P/U in w/failed emissions.They had said 'no problem'to their ability to diagnose. After changing the oil that I didn't want changed, they concluded it must need a Catalytic Converter.(EST.$1000.00 +/-) I wasnt convinced,took it elsewhere.TQS changed O2 Sensor and all is great.EXCEPT for the $100.00 check out fee. I've asked for only a partial refund but they haven't responded. VERY POOR BUSINESS.

Have used Tom Craig Automotive for a really long time and positively love the quality of their service. These guys are intensely considerate, professional, expert, fun-loving, honest and reasonable. Maybe even more important; those I've recommended to Craig's, report back with gratitude and high compliments.

I just called Craig's Automotive after reading all of these wonderful reviews. The person that answered my call was unbelievably rude. I was taken aback by his very unhelpful and blunt attitude. I simply asked him about the cost of having a tune-up on my Lexus GS400. He then asked me "What does that mean?". I then said, "Excuse me? What does what mean?" He says, "What does tune-up mean to you?" Now being that I'm not a mechanic, I didn't know how he wanted me to answer this question. I replied, "Spark plugs changed and whatever else is standard procedure" To which he said "Well SIR, if all you want are your spark plugs changed then it's this priceand if you want blah, blah, blahthen it's this priceso which one are you talking about, SIR?" At that point I knew I wouldn't be taking my car to Craig's if this was my initial encounter. I think the proper way to answer my question would to maybe explain that there are different types of tune-ups and services performed at different mileage points on the Lexus. Depending on your mileage you will need, x,y,z and it cost, x,y,z. Like the very professional and informative young man that answered the phone at the next place I called. Thanks for nothing to the young man that answered my call today. I hope you learn a few people skills because I am sure you have turned more than a handful of people away. Especially in city where there are SEVERAL options!!!...
