Best BBQ, 9/13/2008

Go here on a Friday or a Saturday night for live blues from any of the great bands that come through here. The BBQ is pretty tasty too!

Best BBQ, 9/01/2008

My husband, who is a BBQ nut, calls this mecca. And he doesn't fool around when it comes to BBQ. I have to admit we don't understand the concept of the rib sandwich, but others seem to love it. We... always get the pulled pork.

fine but not great

I thought the sides at Daddy Dz were pretty good, the pulled pork however was not my favorite. The atmosphere is grimy, but don't let that stop you from stopping in. Everyone has their own take on BBQ, this place has it's highlights, so it's definitely worth trying.

Not a fan

All bbq is good. This is my least favorite in town. Fatty, sauce is lacking, the place does have character- thats good.

Classic BBQ

Although a little pricey, the ribs are very good if you catch them on the mid-day run. Toward the end, they tend to lean toward the dry side. The cornbread is AMAZING...and I hate cornbread...go there for that alone.

Best BBQ ever

We were sceptical when we were told how good this place was but it is! Excellent BBQ and the cornbread is the best ever! We usually get it to-go and the food is ready fast.

I Love This Place

This is the type of restaurant where you hear the name and your mouth starts watering. The food is great. You feel like you've stepped back in time. The focus isn't on fancy, ornate items - it's on the food. You can imagine the food cooking all day to reach perfection.

Oh Yeah...

I'm not a BBQ expert, so please keep that in mind when reading this review. What I can say is that this is a down and dirty place that is a lot of fun. There is not many non-chain bbq places in town and this is definitely not a chain. As far as the food is concerned, I forget my diet and go for it. I get right in there and chow down. Chicken, pork, beef are all good. I like the spicy sauce. Many sides to choose from -- mostly southern. I was served corn on the cobb that was frozen my last visit that needed to be reheated. The cornbread is heavenly. The waitstaff is laid back and friendly. Not in the best part of town, but adds to the experience. Food comes on paper plates and sanitary wipes are supplied.

Good Q

I have been on a search for GREAT barbecue in Georgia. So far Daddy Dz is at the top, I actually have been to over 20 restaurants from South to North Metro. They have a variety of meats from Chicken to Pork, not just the PIG. And Sides. The desserts were OK, but the barbecue and sides are the best. You get big portions for your money.

REALLY Good BBQ!

I think the last reviewer may have his/her bbq restaurants confused. . .there is no way he/she is talking about Daddy D'z! When you get out of your vehicle at Daddy' D'z and smell the BBQ you KNOW the BBQ is not boiled! Daddy D'z is the Best BBQ Ribs in Atlanta hands down! The Daddy D’z Famous Que Wraps are also really unique and YUMMY! BBQ in a shack. . . .the best kind!

This Restaurant is not Good!

We chose this restaurant because of the positive reviews we read, boy were we wrong. This is not Bar-B-Que. For starters, there is no kitchen, nor are there any grills (take a peak behind the counter and you will see what I mean). For anyone who knows good Bar-B-Que, this meat is boiled (both chicken and ribs)- ugh! On the positive the candied yams and cornbread are good. However, the Okra, is not fresh, and is a pre-breaded frozen brand.

So Good

We just love this place. All their sides are so yummy. I do find their bbq'd meats a bit on the dry side at times which is disappointing.

Good BBQ is so rare in this town!

I love this place! They're a little over-generous with the sauce (I get mine on the side), but it is really good barbecue in a town that desperately needs more good barbecue! Macaroni & cheese and collards for my sides, please. And they have some of the best sweet tea in town.

Really good! Authentic!

This is a very casual place. They serve BBQ the way it was meant to be. No frills. Seriously. It's one of those places where you just don't think about looking in the kitchen or under the tables. Just accept it for what it is, a BBQ joint. The food is sooooo good. I always get the black beans and rice, cornbread, fried mushrooms and when I ate meat the pulled pork. The red velvet cake is great. Don't be snobby. Just try it.
