I would avoid due to billing practices, 12/17/2007

Twice I was scheduled for annual checkups that I did not schedule. The first time, I received a call that I did not make the appointment, and I thought perhaps I simply forgot. They "rescheduled... me" for the next day. I went in and no problem - no missed appt fee, etc. The second time this happened was 3 months after I moved away from the area and changed doctors. When they tracked me down to tell me I missed an appointment I had not scheduled, and I told them I did not schedule it, I had moved, and would not book an appt to drive 2 hours for a checkup, they billed me $100 no show fee. I refused to pay, they turned me over to a credit collection agency. I will turn this over to the Attorney General's office. The doctor is nice, tends to schedule a lot of tests though, and wait time is sometimes long. Those issues are common with most doctors. But the front office schedule when you aren't told practice and bill you when you don't show... not good.
