I really love this store. Keep doing what you do guys. Best Buy really sucks. Go to Decatur CD if you want great selection and atmosphere.

Excellent CD's and new vinyl too
Warren runs a great shop at Decatur CD -- yes, I know him on a first name basis, but so does anyone who shops there regularly. That's the charm of indie record shops like this, compared to anonymous online purchases or big box retail. The CD selection is excellent and seems to be skewed to the owner's taste for rootsy music -- although he does have a hip hop section too! Also of note is the new vinyl he started stocking in 2006. Check out one of his "in-store" events with free live music and beer and you'll be a convert too.

Great Local Store
This little store is stocked with a huge number of albums from a variety of different genres. Any more titles in stock would probably violate fire codes. Does it have everything? No. It's not a huge mege-store that can run with an equally gigantic overhead. But I found the guy behind the counter to be more than willing to help at any time check for title availability and offer to order it. So, if I can't find it I can go through Amazon or a locally owned and operated shop. Obviously my choice is the local guy. Plus, they often squeeze live performers into their book/DVD section. Check them out!

Great new section, pathetic used section
Probably a good store if you're primarily looking for new, up-to-the moment, indie releases that you read about in Pitchfork Media. I went in there looking for an OOP Dead Milkmen CD. Their used "section" was two small tables of UNALPHABETIZED CDs, some priced $8, unlike the similarly unorganized $1 bin at Book Nook (where, at least, you're digging for a BARGAIN). I won't be going back.

Best CD Store In Atlanta?!?!
Just started shopping at Decatur CD a year or so ago, but it has quickly become a regular stop. Great selection of new & hard to find indie releases, great back catalog titles, and a helpful staff that can always suggest something new. With the demise of Tower, Decatur Cd might be the best bet to find that old record you are looking for and to also learn about 4 or 5 other bands who sound similar to your old favorites that are the cream of the indie hipster pile at the moment. Great selection of used cds and extremely reasonable prices make this place worth the drive. Also cool is the fact that there are lounge chairs for less music-minded spouses to relax in and read while their better half shops.
