I went to Decatur Paint and body after getting hit. Insurance was out of the question. They gave me a great quote and did awesome work for what I wanted done. They even offered headlight resoration (which I had done at another place and it was still foggy looking). I told the no, that I could put that off a little longer. I came back to pick up my car, only to see that they did my headlights anyways! I will DEFINITELY go back!!

After getting a high price at one bodyshop and ridiculous treatment at another, I was thrilled to find Decatur Paint and Body! Michael was personable, gave me a great price to make the repair and we arranged to do it quickly. Hopefully we (i.e. my wife) doesn't have any more accidents. If we do we are heading right back to Decatur Paint and Body.

Folks you can read all the other glowing reviews here for more detail. Have had Mike & his crew work on multiple cars and just wanted to note that they really do provide five star quality, service, and value. In short you have found the very best auto body shop in the area.

Went to Decatur Paint & Body to have some repair work done to the door of my wife's car. Mike was professional, courteous & thorough. I don't know if you're like me, but usually when something like this comes up you say that you're going to get multiple estimates & compare prices, but because of time constraints you just don't. You just go with the first guy right? Well, for once I actually did get three estimates & Mike not only beat them by a considerable sum, but he offered more services (i.e. headlight restoration). The car looks fantastic & I can't recommend Decatur Paint & Body enough.

I don't have a lot of experience with body work but I do know -- the car looks great -- they kept the floors clean -- it cost less than they said since a couple of quoted parts were not needed.

From the beginning, Mike and his professional staff held my hand, walking me through the painful experiences of car repair. Their passion for automobiles is apparent. I'm a difficult customer, wanting only the best for my car. And not only did I receive the best possible work, but also piece of mind that everything was done correctly. The workmanship is to the highest standards available--true artisans with an impeccable attention to detail. I mentioned to Mike there was custom work I wanted which wasn't normally done at a body shop. He made all of the arrangements, and even managed to get a better price. Over the past 2 years, I have taken the car back for touch-ups from stone chips by passing cars and everyday scratches. Each and every time, my car comes back looking like new. For this reason, NO ONE will touch my vintage Rolls Royce except the knowledgeable staff at DECATUR PAINT AND BODY. Mark W.

Back in July, my neighbor's 300 year old tree came down damaging my wife's honda and my beloved '93 ford bronco. When I asked my mechanic for a body shop, without hesitating he suggested Mike and Decatur Paint and Body. Boy was he right. Both cars look amazing. What was most impressive was that Mike will battle the insurance company for you. I never had to pick up the phone. If their estimate is incorrect or needs to be adjusted, he calls them and tells them why. The cars looked great and they even did extra touch ups free of charge. The bronco had suspension issues from the tree and Mike was adamant that it had to be perfect before it left his lot. Being a police officer, it can be difficult for me to completely trust people. I trust Mike and Decatur Paint and Body. Jon Dixon

I have had the distinct pleasure of having my car fixed with Decatur Paint and Body. Every time I've dropped my car off, they worked with speed and precision. Not only that, but they had reasonable prices and friendly employees that were willing to help no matter what.

I was so impressed with the excellent customer service and prompt attention to my car at Decatur Paint & Body. The repair work (ordering the part and installation) only took a matter of hours. The price was even better than expected! Thank you to Mike and his great team for being friendly, honest, and dependable! Tequila Lamar

Worked with them on two occasions and both times the car was finished when they said and the price was reasonable. They try hard to make you happy and both our cars look great.

My wife and I have used Decatur Paint &Body on about five occasions: several for bumper hits and on two occasions for fender repairs with bumper replacements and painting. On every occasion we have been very pleased with the quality of work and customer service. Unlike many body shops I've dealt with in the past, Mike and his team get the job done on time. On two occasions I did have to go back for minor adjustments which were handled promptly and courteously. As a former small business owner I appreciate the customer service attitude and the fact that they deliver quality work when promised - - - - so often a rarity anymore. They have done some excellent work on British sports cars. I have always found their prices to be very fair and probably below many shops. Without hesitation, I recommend this shop. Ed Pease

Mike is the best. He is very friendly, polite and courteous. The work he did on my car was fantastic. No problem with the insurance. My Honda Accord (black 2001)had damages to the doors on both sides. Had to replace one and fix the other. Mike did a great job and restored it like nothing had happened. He took care of the color fade very nicely. Definitely a thumbs up and would hilgly recomend.

I wish I'd taken my business elsewhere 1) Repair and paint that was estimated to take 3~4 week actually took 3 and a half months. They didn't start until a month after the car was delivered to them 2) Quality control was poor, and I was the one who had to be the inspector 3) Numerous flaws in paint and finish, some of which STILL exist 4) Damaged my vehicle (Did they fix it? Yes, but I was the one who found it and brought it to their attention) 5) Re-assembled parts of the vehicle incorrectly, and accused me of having made the re-assembly errors 6) Rarely returned phone calls. And, given the numerous instances where the car wasn't ready as promised and they didn't call, this led to many wasted trips. 7) Some promised work was never performed. Never maintained written records of what needed to be done, such that details were constantly being overlooked, leading to repeated wasted trips 8) They lost several small parts that they removed from the car, only one of which they made good 9) Mr. Cushaw took great offense, and became rude, confrontational, and aggressive when I pointed out flaws in their work This review was written after I picked up the vehicle for the last time, and revised after Mr. Cushaw's response; his response is laughable. I did no work on the car during the time it was in their shop; I delivered a stripped car and picked up a stripped car; no complications. It's been almost a year and I'm still incensed by the poor service and quality of work

In response to this review it was a 1980MGB hard hit collision/restoration.To cut costs for customer I broke my policy by letting the owner buy some of his parts and do some of the disassembly work.Door provided by owner was no good,I took the time to find another door, took it off another car at no charge to owner. The age of the car, locating parts along with customer working on the car,did complicate the repair.Causing the repair to take longer than anticipated. The customer &I had a heated discussion over the phone. For that I have regrets. He wrote this review after that discussion, while angry and before he picked up his car.I believe that when he picked his car up he too thought it looked better than it has in years.I do have pictures of repair. I don't think another body shop would ever be willing to do this quality of repair while working with him to cut costs.I have had this business for about 20 years and my goal is to make my customers happy as you can tell by my other reviews. Thanks Mike Cushwa-Owner
I took my car to Decatur Paint and Body looking to fix several minor paint and body problems on my car at once. Mike was a pleasure to work with as he did a great job of explaining the options available to me to fix each issue on the car and how they would perform each repair. I've had body work done on my car in the past, so I am familiar with how improper or lazy paint prep leads to poorly adhering paint. I don't see that happening here. Mike and his crew know their stuff and pay good attention to detail. I am pleased with the paint job and other body repairs they performed, as my car looks better now than it did on the day that I bought it. Other nice extras: I got a ride to and from the shop at my request and they also washed my car after they were done with the work. Also, being a car guy, I was interested in their current restoration projects and Mike gladly gave me a tour. This clearly isn't a bargain basement body shop that will screw up and then hang you out to dry. Mike and the rest of the team provided a thoroughly pleasant experience. I highly recommend Decatur Paint and Body and I'll be back again in the future.

I was just bowled over by the service I received today on my damaged bumper. While I could have been charged for a new bumper (on an old car I will be trading soon), they were able to push the dent out and charged me nothing for the repair! Service just doesn't get any better than that.
