This is the best primary vet care ever. They helped us through lots of great times and some really tough times in the past 10 years. They have a deep staff and a great network of incredicble... specialists when those tough times arise. Many of our friends have gone to them when their primary vet could not help them with tough cases. This is an incredible practice and I feel blessed to have them.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I have been bringing my dogs here for 8 years and love the care and attention my pets get. The staff is very helpful from front to back. Sometimes there is a wait time but usually because the techs and doctors spend adequate time with each patient and owner explaining procedures and at home care. I would recommend this hospital and do, to all of my friends and family in the area.

I am VERY disappointed with the service my cat DIDNíT receive from DeKalb Animal Hospital. I called the office an hour before they were scheduled to close. I explained I was less than 10 minutes away, and my cat was in distress and having trouble breathing. I was told they still had 2 more patients coming in and they couldnít see me. I explained my cat was having trouble breathing and he needed to be seen now. They told me to take him to another facility that was open 24 hours. When I arrived at the 24 hour facility, I discovered it was not open 24 hours, and my cat had to wait 30 minutes for them to open. Sadly my cat had to be put down, and even worse those 30 minutes he spent waiting for the emergency clinic to open he was suffering having difficulty breathing.

I absolutely LOVE all of the doctors and staff at DeKalb. They are so great with our dogs and you can tell they truly love their jobs! As soon as you walk in they are so friendly and welcoming and help make your animal feel comfortable. We have worked with all 4 of the vets on staff and they have been nothing but amazing. It was a rough year for us with the passing of one of our dogs (Bella) and after many trips to the vet as her condition worsened we had to make that tough decision, and the next time I came in for some meds for our other dog, one of the technicians heard I was there and came out to say how sorry she was for our loss and gave me a hug. She had help treat Bella when she was there and having them show that extra compassion to us meant the world to me. They go above and beyond for their patients (and for their patients owners)! We love everyone at DeKalb and trust them 100% with our fur babies. I'm so glad we found them!!

I have been going to Dekalb Animal Hospital for over 10 years.. The reason that keeps me going back besides the medical care my kids get is the "warmth" that starts when you walk in the door. The girls at the front desk greet you with a warm smile and a friendly voice. All the Doctors are wonderful, their soft voices and caring touch when treating my kids,no words can express how grateful I am... They are not just the "Best" at what they do but they make you feel like you are part of a family...

I live no where near Dekalb Animal Hospital; and, I still choose to travel the distance because all of the vets are outstanding. Doesn't matter who you get, you always know they are looking out for your pet's best interest. Their staff loves animals, too. One of my dogs had surgery there and I was totally confident about it.

I've been going to DeKalb Animal Hospital for 10 years. I used to live in Tucker and now I live in Lawrenceville and still make the trip just to see Dr. Awalt. I've seen all the doctors and they are all great. Dr. Awalt went over and above the call of duty when I had an emergency with my kitty, Bennie Boo, on a Saturday. All turned out well. Best Place in Town!

The whole staff at this animal hospital are courteous and knowledgeable from the girls at the front desk to the wonderful veterinarians. They not only talk to you, they talk to your pet and after all our pets are people too! They do a wonderful job and take very good care of my cat.
The folks at DeKalb Animal Hospital are THE BEST! Never had a bad experience... and if you have a bulldog, this is the only practice to go to. I trust Dr. Rush and his team - without question - you can't go wrong no matter what kind of animal you have!
Always very clean and everyone is extremely friendly. I take my dog and cat here. The vet even kept calling to check on my cat after an ear infection. Calling and discussing options with me was WAY better than having to pay to bring in my cat just so I could ask some questions.
We were very impressed with the care given to our animals @ Dekalb Animal Hospital. The front desk staff was great. We saw Dr. Roberts...he was very good with both animals (cat and dog). I highly recommend Dekalb Animal Hospital.
I have been taking my dogs to DAH since I moved to DeKalb County. Every single vet in the practice is wonderful. Whenever I make an appointment, they ask who I would like to see and I'm always comfortable saying: "anyone available." They are very knowledgeable about large breed dogs and I've appreciated all the information and research citations they have shared with me over the years. I've lost two Irish wolfhounds and everyone (vets, front desk, and vet assistants) were so caring. Indeed, they made donations to UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine in the names of my beloved dogs. I was really touched. How many vets do that!
