Based on my experience with Delta Appliances, it is very possible that "Herman" and his operation is perhaps a criminal operation whose aim is simply to take people's money under false pretenses. He took $536.00 for a "parts order" in July and refused to return it late October 2013. One excuse after the next for months. He also refused to give me the legal name of his business and I'm pretty sure he gave me a false last name to avoid service/prosecution.

Similar to the other reviews, we had a terrible experience. My husband and I contacted Herman to fix the washer/dryer in our rental unit. He came out in April and said that he could fix it temporarily to get it working for our tenant but that to really fix it, a part need to be replaced. He said he had to order it and would be back in a week to install. We went ahead and paid him (BIG MISTAKE), six months later, despite numerous phone calls between him, our tenant, my husband and even myself, he has not return to install the part. The story doesn't end though. Since he claimed all the delays were due to our tenant not returning his calls about scheduling, I finally stepped in and said I would handle meeting him while I was on maternity leave. I called Herman on a Monday and spoke with him personally. He said he had the part and could meet me Friday at 5 p.m. I made it very clear that I had a newborn baby with me and therefore needed him to be prompt. I said if he had to cancel for any reason, that he had to call me immediately. I then called him again on Wednesday to confirm that he was still available on Friday. He said yes. On my way to the property at 4:30 p.m. Friday, I called to confirm he was on his way. He didn't answer. I called him again at 6 p.m. furious because he never showed up. He left me and my newborn sitting in a car for two hours and never bother to show up or even call to apologize. And he still has our money.

WE hired this man (Herman) he charged $85 to clean the lint filter... The dryer stopped working right after he left, I had days of lies of Herman coming back with no calls and every call we made a lie on why he couldn't. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHADY COMPANY....

Update: Inorder to try to make them happy we offered a free repair and that didnt work for them so what are we to do???We cleaned the lint from down in the dryer removed front to do so an he was showed the pile of lint and trash, metal and screws that were in the unit. We charged them for what we did and nothing else. We did not return because we were told that the funds were not in the bank and the check was no good, but we did call back with an estimate of the part cost and he refused the repair. Do not trust! He came on 2/27, looked at fridge, said we needed a new compressor, didn't have the part and needed to order it. Said he'd return the next day 9-12. He called at 9:22-said he was on his way. At 12:15, my husband called-Said he was on his way. At 1:33, he calls and leaves me a VM saying he's on his way. He shows up at 2:30 with the wrong part, leaves a little after 3-says he'll be back in about an hour depending on traffic-shows up at 8pm. He wouldn't answer me when I asked about his perpetual lying about being on his way and why he didn't call us. He said he told me he had to take care of a few other customers, which is a complete fabrication as he never mentioned this to me. I gave him the option to refund our deposit and leave. He would not, then asked my husband, "can you do something with her?" he would not talk to me and kept avoiding my question about his boss' information-I BELIEVE HE'S THE OWNER AND EVEN LIES ABOUT THIS. After he finished at 11:10pm, I assured him if we could verify the temperature was correct, then we would pay the remaining balance. He wanted to charge my card, then if the fridge wasn't working, suggested i call the credit card company and dispute the charge. He got that idea from a dissatisfied customer-see 2/27 review! There's absolutely no warranty as we will never use him again. Loss of $326 deposit, $200 food/school bonus, 14hrs life, 4hrs class, 4hrs work. Fridge STILL not proper temp after 24hrs-we have to buy a one!!!

Update: We did get a checked for the remaining of our money in the middle of March and she said every thing was working great but as you see she did not do as we did go back and tell the truth. Delta Appliances will always treat you right and honest This unit was repaird proper as this customer did not have our money and used all type of excuses on the evening of the completion of repair such as we will call the office and pay in the morning and on and on and the next day would not answer the phone and after being told by the compamy owner that he would take out a warrant for theif of services and it was then that she wrote this untrue review. Alas, our experience echoes all the others. This guy has no consideration for time. After the initial consultation & waiting a week for the part,the subsequent appointment, scheduled for "after" 3pm was cancelled by Herman around 6:30 because he was "beat". He intimated he should have never told us the part was in. The next day my husband called @10am to arrange the reschedule. The agreed window was 12-5. At 6:30 he called to say he was on his way. By the time he called at 8:10 to say he was down the block, I had already contacted VISA to put the deposit we had paid in dispute. I told him "we're done - never mind" & hung up. He's got a lot of nerve!

We here at Delta Appliances do thank you for your business, but this was not a Delta Appliance customer at the time and the date that she called and got Herman thru a company that he also works for and they dont have reviews there so she used Kudzu to vent as she had never used Kudzu or Delta Appliances before. The first appointment I made was to get a quote to repair a leaking hose on the refrigerator. I was given an arrival window of 9-11am and he showed up after noon. We scheduled a second appointment to make the repair and I was given an arrival window of 8-10am. I called at 10:15 and was told he "was running behind" and would be there within the hour. Called again at 11:30 and he was "on his way". Finally showed after noon. I chose Delta based on the Kudzu reviews, but obviously should have checked Yelp as that is where the "real" reviews are posted - I am writing this review so no one else makes the same mistake I did.

Our repairmen dont hurry thru our repairs inorder to run to someone that can not wait within the window that they were given, and over and over again they copy from other nagative people post and not thinking about what they are writing. 1: our windows are from 9am to 1pm and afternoon 1pm to 5pm. 2: if you are that unhappy please cotact the repairman and we will give you double your money back, 3; she fail to mention that she got an L G refrigerator repaired for $84 labor and parts as this is how low we here at Delta Appliances keep our prices and we will keep on treating our customers right and our prices low and doing it right the first time. All of the negative reviews here reflect the same experience we had. Notice how Herman responds to them - it's never his fault when things go wrong. My experience with Herman was awful - I cannot fathom how he has a good rating here with all the negative comments. If Herman spent as much time servicing his customers as he did arguing with bad reviews online, he'd have less complaints against him. Look at all the time he spends responding on this site, and you'll see why he has time management problems.

Had a 10am appointment but they never showed up or called until 4:00pm. They needed to order a part that was supposed to take 5 days but it took over 2 weeks and they never called to follow-up. I could have ordered the part and got it faster. Ended up replacing the part myself. He stood right in my house and told me 5 days and I stressed how I needed it fixed ASAP because of a party. They gave me a time, not a window for the first appointment. Once they did get the part and scheduled a time to install it I told him I had to leave by 10:00am so they needed to be on time. The tech called at 11:15 to tell me he was on the way. This all boils down to poor time management and setting customer expectations that can't be met. There are other reviews that echo the same experience. If they fix that they might be fine.

We thank you for your business but please please tell it like it is, this customer had tried to repair his dishwasher himself and ordered the wrong part and then called us and we found the problem and ordered the correct parts for him which came in obout eight days later as we told him it would take seven to ten business days. Again we do not give appointments on the hour as we give a window and work within that time frame. After parts came there was no times that we offered would work for him because he wanted to pick up the parts from us and again do it himself as he did and those are the parts he used to replace himself as he said. What he got upset about is that we charged him a service charge before he could pick up this part which he did not want to pay and only wanted to use us to diagnose and order his part for him. Again we do thank you.
I call Mr. Payne to come and fix my washing machine. He came out within an hour of calling and fixed the washing machine. Mr. Payne was very polite,attentive to my request. He took his time and was able to fix the problem. Based on customer service alone I would use him again and recommend him to all my family and friends.

Herman came out himself the same day as called and fixed the machine without requiring any parts. Very reasonble charge considering he was there maybe 2 hours fixing it - less that $100 total. Polite, efficient, cost effective and honest. Would use him again and recommend him.

On 8/6/12 we placed a call for a home visit, and were told someone is coming today, but no one showed up. 8/10/12 made call #2, appointment given, service man showed up late. He checked dryer, said he needed to order a part, paid him $208 of $325 bill due. 8/17/12 was told the wrong part received, needed to place another order. 8/21/12 third call made, to check on repair status, received 1 pm appointment, repairman never showed up or called. 8/22/12 fourth call made to business, appointment made for 11 am, repairman did not arrive until 5 pm. When asked for a reduced repair bill due to repeated missed appointments and to speak to the Owner, we received severely abusive/nasty replies from our service technician.

We did what we said we would do we called when the part came in and made an appointment between 1pm and 5pm and our repairman was there. please click on the name and read other reviews that she left but we gave the guy that was there good service as we never saw or talk to a lady until she called after the repair and wanted free service and we explained to her that we had allready given the guy a discount and she wanted to know why would we give her a discount and she didnt like that either. No one ever spoke abusive or nasty to her the only thing the repairman told her is that he could not stay on the phone and talk to her all day because we had customers as she called every fifteen minutes and would talk for twenty minutes.
