I hired Karen to install loft curtains for my unit - massive factory windows in an old loft - the cost was over $6K and she seemed fully confident that she and her installer could handle the work. Her installer was extremely vocal that he did not have the equipment to install into 100 year old concrete but they got the job completed after two days of work. In less than a year, three of the curtains began disassembling and I reached out to Karen for repairs. After almost two months of her simply ignoring my requests for a repair, she finally answered me and said she would have an installer come out. In her email, she accidentally left an exchange between she and her husband, where they were basically bashing me for demanding a repair that I offered to pay for - her husband went so far as to google me personally and share a personal incident that happened over a decade ago. All I requested was a repair to work that had lasted less than a year and I received a personal attack. I still think the work was poorly installed and I am often afraid to open more than the black out curtains - I intentionally do not open the sheers for fear of them disassembling. But more than anything, I was shocked and dismayed that instead of putting her energy into helping me with repairs, she and her husband spent time and energy digging for dirt so they could feel better about ignoring me. Truly, one of the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences of my life.

I found Karen through a referral service, and called her because the reviews I read were great. She did not disappoint in person. She arrived when she said she would, and came armed with several options for window treatments. She talked me in to a less-expensive option than I was initially considering! Karen considered my wishlist and applied it to the space we were working with, finding the best product based on the best choice rather than her profit margin. (Refreshing.) I ended up having her do window treatments for two additional rooms in our home. Installation was exactly when promised, with no problems. Did I mention we love the end result?

Drapery panels I brought from a former home to my current home were masterfully repurposed. I was so impressed by Karen's ability to come up with a simple and creative solution. The repurposed drapery panels look as if they were meant to be this way all along. Karen is a pleasure to work with and has another project underway for me.

I contacted Design Impressions last year to make some custom curtains/drapes for my loft. My place has A LOT of windows and I wanted something that would fit the 'loft' feel. Karen had some excellent ideas and tons of fabrics to choose from. It didn't take them long to make my curtains and they did a very professional installation.
