Annually many people experience electrical shocks and the unfortunate die from electrocution. Many catastrophes can be avoided if ground fault protection is in place. The purpose of ground fault protection is to recognize faults in wiring circuits, appliances, power tools and devices i.e. outlets, etc. When faults are detected, the power is shut down and the flow of electricity is stopped. This action takes place many times faster than a common fuse or circuit breaker can respond.
