Dr. Caughman and his stafff are the most caring people. They all love the animals and treat them like they were their own. Dr. Caughman has taken care of my animals for 10 years and in that time I have never had a bad experience. He is the most caring vet I have ever seen, he has spent the night at the hospital taking care of them and bringing them through horrible sickness. I would not trust anyone else with my girls. They are my children and I would only let Dr. Caughman take care of them....

This vet lost my dog. He didn't call m until after my dog was missing for four and a half hours. He did nothing to help me find him, but the posters and flyers I posted all over the place gave me insight. People were calling, not because hey found or saw my dog, ut because of the bad experiences they had as his clinic. He left my Husky unattended and my dog climed his fence and ran. He did't call me for almost 4 hours after it happened, and even then, he offered no apologies and did nothing to help me find him. This individul has no business in veterinary medicine.

We tried this vet w/ a itchy dog to get a second opinion. We thought Dogwood had found the problem, mange. Dipes were recommended, so we went through the whole process, $100/week for the dips. On the third dip I went to pick up my dog and the vet informed me that he could not guarantee the 2nd dip was done correctly, yet they still charged me for the treatment. This vet seemed money hungry and did not act like they cared for the well being of my animal. The Dr. also told me that his itching could be from him not being nuetered. They also talk badly about other vets while i was there. Do not take your animals to this vet. $1000 dollars later, my animal still had the same problem. Their cost were way more than any other vet that i called.

He does not deal well with the people. Our poor little girl got sick, and we spent at least $2,000 only to be told that he did not know what was wrong with her. Eventually we ended up putting our 2 year old baby down, because we didn't want to see her in pain anymore. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my lift. I would not recommend this Vet to anyone.

Be careful. If your animal is scared of going to the vet...don't take them there. They abuse the animals in the back. I quit after working there 1 year because I couldn't take it anymore. They hit them and wrap leashes around there mouths even with the mussel on them. They have even choked them with the leashes that they provide up front. Just trying to send out a warning...I am an animal lover too. I actually wanted to be a Vet until I saw what went on in a animal hospital. They seem nice...until your dog or cat goes to the back!!! Word of advise: There is no reason why someone should have to take your animal to the back. Everything should be able to be done right there in the room with you. A good Vet does everything where you can see. Don't trust everyone with your pet. Remember they are part of your family too and they can't talk to tell.

Lied about CRITICAL lab results, missed need to further test, caused my animal to become worse, acted like it was an imposition to call back when my animal's health was declining. I will NEVER go back! Please don't go here!

I have been using this facility since they first opened in 98.. Dr.Caughman and his entire staff are very professional and really care about their patients. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet in the area.

Dr. Carrell, who I usually see, is great and Dr. Caughman seems good, too, though I have seen him less often. Animals love her and she seems to genuinely like and understand them. Only reason this isn't 5 stars is that I have had a couple of mishaps with medications, being given the wrong dosage by a tech, so I have learned to double check. Brad, who has been there a long time is great - I think this was someone new. I know this could happen anywhere, but I just now know to take care. UPDATE 03/07: Dr. Carrell and Brad are no longer with the practice.

These guys are the best. Compassionate and caring. When my dog had cancer a few years ago, they were amazing. Dr. Caughman did every thing humanly possible to extend my dog's life and while cancer never has a happy ending, Dr. Caughman and his staff were able to give me an extra year with my beloved dog and I will be forever grateful for that.

Dogwood Animal Hospital and the staff are the best around! They really care about their clients and their client's humans. I've never felt more comfortable with my furkids care and trust Drs. Caughman and Carrell without hesitation.

I used to go here regularly with my cats, but felt they were ripping us off. They requested lots of extra tests that weren't necessary and weren't terribly friendly. We switched to Gwinnett Animal Clinic and have been MUCH happier. Plus, this location isn't very convenient...especially during rush hour.
