Epic Adventures is for mature kids & teens who are looking to really push themselves and achieve some worthwhile goals. This camp is for the nature oriented or outdoorsy kid who''s always wanting to hike more, be outside longer, explore. It's very unique, I couldn't find anything else in Texas like this. Our grandson, 15, had been to other camps & wanted a longer trip and more rugged things to do. So on this trip, they hiked 21 miles up and down in the Ozark mountains, camping along the way, and then kayaked 40 miles down the Buffalo River. Did he love it? Yes, he did! He came back bubbling over about the fun they had. Yes, they had some little challenges, like rain in the middle of the night, but those things ended up being those funny stories. He knows he exerted himself, and he's proud of it. They worked some things out as a team, and those were all lessons. The kids cooked, set up camp, took it down, divided up the stuff for everyone's packs, cleaned up, & took off again. He made a whole team of friends, including his guides. There is a whole lot of energy with this group, and it's all positive. Great place, & I highly recommend it! Mr. John Hardy has worked really hard to get this camp to be a fun & exciting option. He's great to work with and will address any question, whether just in general or something specific about your camper.
