I would not recommend East Lake Eye Care to anyone! I had an eye exam done in October and thought the doctor was very polite. I went to order my glasses online only to find that the prescription the doctor gave me was wrong AFTER I got my glasses in the mail. I went and had my glasses checked to make sure the lenses matched the prescription and they DID but yet I couldn't see out of them! I went back to East Lake Eye Care and after a little bit of arguing with the doctor, she admitted HER office put my prescription into the computer wrong. I made her give me a new eye exam and got my correct prescription. I asked her to pay to have my glasses replaced (what it would cost me to replace them) and she said (and I quote!!!), "I could but I won't." This is after HER office was the one who screwed up my prescription in the first place! My parents always taught me if I made a mistake then I fix it to the best of my ability. Apparently hers didn't do the same and I am the one out for the money I will be reporting her to the Better Business Bureau! So please save yourself the trouble and pick another place for your eye care needs!

I will admit that after reading the other reviews that I was hesitant about visiting East Lake Eye Care, but they were in the area and on my insurance plan. From the moment I stepped through the doors I was pleasantly surprised. Of course the office was nice and the staff were friendly. The doctor was friendly and all the equipment was computerized. No surprise here, though 'cause we expect that, right? My surprise... After wearing "progressive" glasses for years 'cause I was told that I couldn't wear contacts, I tried the "multifocal" contact lenses. Everyone was so patient. I LOVE these lenses and even received my supply at my HOUSE in less than a week! I took my husband there, and now he wears them, too! GREAT place! Glad I took the chance and I happily tell people to go "see" them.

I live in the area and thought it would be great to use a local eye doctor. 1st, made my appointment, on time and they were running behind, 2nd eye doctor was not there but another filled in for her and she was great, 3rd took for ever for someome to assist me with my order, 4th the assistant tried to make me purchase things I did not need nor want, 5th the computers were down so if I did not pay cash or check my order could not be placed, 6th the next day someone was to call me to get my credit card information and place my order, 7th and this is the kicker, it's been over a week and no one has called me. I have called over and over again to only get the answering machine. Can I please get my glasses. I will never use them again and will let everyone I know in the area know not too either.

I have been wearing eye glass since a child I'am now 40yr's old and wearing contact lenses since I was 11yr's old .I have a very difficult Rx.The Dr.at East Lake was very thorough.I was very impressed with the Dr's examination for both glasses and contacts. The staff was very professive from the time making my appointment to fitting my glasses and ordering my contacts. When ordering my glasses and contacts the office manager told me that both could take up to 7 to 10 -02/23/10 business days to come in and once they have came in that I would receive a phone to let me know that they are ready to be picked up and fitted. Both glasses and contacts were there befor promised date. All an all I was very pleased with the staff and serverices that I received at this office and recommend this practice to all my family and friends.

I wrote this on a google review, but wanted to make sure it was seen: After moving to the area from a small town and a wonderful, caring, conscientious eye doctor I decided to try East Lake Eye Care. All was going well until I had to wait for my contacts to be ordered...over a week. Then I was given the wrong strength, was treated like I was the one who made the mistake and it could not be possible that they made a blunder. When I finally got it through to them that I didn't place the order, I had to wait another full week to get my correct contacts, and during that week I was called twice to remind me that I had to bring in the incorrect contacts or I would not receive the correct ones (as if I had a use for the mistake). There were no apologies until I went in and spoke with the office manager who did say she was sorry after I asked for an explanation. Lots of wasted time, gas and frustration later, I will not return.

Do NOT give them your business. They oversell and overcharge! They sold my husband a $1200 pair of glasses ($520 copay) - charged him and then refused to cancel the order when I contacted them the same day to tell them the charge was excessive. They are inflexible and unwilling to make this right.
