I am very frustrated and disappointed in the staff at this office. I scheduled a procedure and they REFUSED to send a precertification to my insurance eventhough my insurance requires it. Also, when I asked what the cost of the procedure would be they said somewhere between 1,000 and 3,000 dollars (I could not find out EXACTLY how much because of the refusal to send the precertification). The first woman that I talked to regarding this even hung up on me! I have never been treated so rudely by any staff at a doctors office. I could understand if I was rude or unreasonable in my request but I was not. When I called back to cancel my appointment the gentleman I spoke with was equally rude and did not care that I was canceling because of the encounter I had with their billing group. The doctor himself was fine but it isn't worth the trouble of dealing with such an undesireable office staff.

Dr. Eisenband is just fine as a physician--in fact, I liked him a lot and felt he was very proficient--but he is impossible to get a hold off. You deal primarily with his nurse, who is nice but not that thorough. For example: She never told me they had an answering service voice mail where you can retrieve test results. I was two months late finding out that my biopsy had come back positive for colitis. Keep in mind that I had been told by Dr. E that all looked well and that if there were further findings they'd let me know. Also keep in mind that I am barely a year out of cancer treatment and this is not a small issue to find out. It was by pure fluke I found out about the results. I happened to call an alternate number left on the nurses outgoing voice mail when I called 2 months later complaining of the same issue. I may be going back but only after I look around to make sure I can't find a more competent practice.

Dr. Eisenband is a great doctor. He sent me on the right path of treatment and exploration of my problems, whereas I did not have good luck with other gastroenterologists. I got the proper treatment and have been much better since!
