Client of ENGS
As a client of the English Nanny and Governess School, I think my written comment here may be insufficient. The experience I have had with this school and the nannies they have have presented has been extraordinarily positive. When using other agencies, I have repeatedly run into trouble. However, with the ENGS, any prospective problems have been taken care of prior to an issue arising. In my opinion, it is never easy to entrust your childs' care with another individual. But, my experience has proven that there are amazing, caring, qualified nannies available who have been taught lessons from knowledgeable and informative instructors and who have been given the tools they need to succeed - and, thus, are invested enough to help my children succeed. My experience with the staff of ENGS has always been effective and productive. And, while I can write on and on about how wonderful the English Nanny and Governess School is (including both the staff and graduates) the proof is that I have happy, healthy children at home and I have the comfort and peace-of-mind that they are being loved, cared for, and taught valuable life lessons - whether I am with them or their nanny is. And, ENGS provided that to me. As stated earlier, words are not enough to express the gratitude and praise I have for ENGS, for my childrens' nanny, and for the satisfaction I have in knowing that my children are always being cared for...

ENGS Graduate
I've read most of the reviews on this site, and I can tell you that I believe I received a good education at the ENGS. Like any school, you will get out of it what you put into it. They endeavored to bring in well qualified faculty and presented a well rounded program.\r\rMy class was small, and we did have some ""problem"" students who wanted everything handed to them. My recommendation to the school would be to not accept any student just out of high school. I believe one requirement for admission to the school for those who do not have a college degree should be having had to work at least 12 months in a full-time job so that the students would know something of the ""real world"".\r\rI would also have liked a bit more hands-on experience with an infant under the direct supervision of the infant care teacher, but I also suspect legally the school has done all they can in that regard. The Friday Practicums are an excellent idea, but the mother you get is the luck of the draw. From the reports I got from the other students in my class, some of the mothers treat the students as babysitters - not nannies in training. My mother was a great role model on childcare, but she seldom let me handle the baby, and I focused more on the toddler in the home. I do know the school attempts to control that as best they can, and the mothers do have to go through an extensive application process. Overall, I learned a lot I did not know before from the infant care teacher, and she did suggest good books to have on hand for review if needed.\r\rAgain, though, life is not handed to you. With any training for any occupation, there will be on-the-job learning as well. I believe the ENGS prepared me well to enter into a great field. Undoubtedly situations will arise that will require learning and research, which is true of any new occupation. The ENGS put forth a great foundation for my getting started, and they are also there when I will have questions that need answered. I can call them

ENGS Experience as a Mother of a Graduate
I am 100% satisfied with the ENGS. As an educated stay at home mother of 3, I appreciate the value of the hands on nurturing. My position has allowed me to oversee the success and development of our 3 now, adult children. An assesment of the love, care and attention that is required to aid in the healthy development of a child should be non negotiable. My impression of the ENGS is in keeping with the values inherant in positive child care. \r\rMy daughter, a graduate from Miami University business school, left school feeling that she was not following her passion. \r\rAfter meeting with the top notch staff at the ENGS it was obvious THIS was the perfect fit. The school offerered a thourough, exciting, educational look at child care. The enviorment was delightful and stimulating. We signed on, might I add, with total excitment and joy!\r\rMy daughter graduated recently from the program and I can not say enough about the fine people that inspired these young woman to be the best caregivers possible!I delighted daily in her enthusiasm for the opportunities offered. The school recruits Clevelands finest in their fields to impart their wisdom. Not to mention it is already in place with the likes of Mrs. Roth the founder of this lovely rare program. A desendent of Great Britian, her wisdom, charm and knowledge, a gift. Mr. Gaylord CEO of the school, a true gentleman as he has had the privelage of being Mrs. Roth's son, no more needs to be said. \r\rI would reccommend this FINE and ELITE school to a child loving individual who has a desire for wonderful career opportunties. As it stands we have secured some of the dream interviews with job security as the inevitable, and the school overseeing the arrangement. After all as they have promised all along: Our familes and students are our #1 concern.\r\r-Maureen Barnett
