Lousy brake service, 4/07/2008

Lousy wannabe mechanic did a lousy job on my rear disk brakes. They squeal and screech. I took it back and they told me it was fixed. The very next morning it was making the noise again. When I took... it back the manager was rude and said there must be something wrong with my car unrelated to their work. I took it to my mechanic and he said they installed the shims incorrectly and never put the silencing paste that is standard on a Toyota brake job. Plus there was a boot that was slipped off and had he not put it back the rod would have rusted and I would have had to have the calipers re-built or replaced. They don't know what they are doing, stick to tires replacement!

Ripped off and left with no car, 12/11/2006

We have two cars that we took in to this Evans Tire location and both had major faults (related to the work done) shortly thereafter. One car we took in to have the brakes done and were told the... brakes were fine and the noises we were hearing were "normal for that type of brake pad" and would go away. Within 3 months our brakes were shot and because I was told to ignore the noises they were making I was nearly in an accident when they gave out. The other car needed the axle replaced and in so doing the mechanic dslodged the transmission seal and all of the oil drained out of our transmission so when I drove it it ruined the transmission. Evans tire refuses to acknowledge responsibility for this because a new manager tookover and wasn't there when the repairs were done so he had "no way to validate it was done by their shop". BEWARE of doing any major repairs here!

Evans tire Poway

All tire dealers are typical "sales poeple" but I have established business with Evans in Poway and will work a deal with you if you ask. they also have alilgnment packages, like you can get your car aligned for three years for $100. They have replaced tires at a discount for me when they wore out too early and replaced one when it blew out with only 8,000miles on it.

Their tires may be a few bucks cheaper, but....

About 9 months ago I dropped my Dodge SRT-4 off at Evans Tires in Kearny mesa. Their tires were $6 cheaper compared to Discount tires and it was right at Xmas. Anyways, I had them install brand-new Falken ZE512's. It took about 1.5hr to install. At 5PM the tech drove my car out of the bay and parked it infront of the store. When I walked out I saw that the wheels were dirty and smudged with Bead lube and brake dust(Camel Snot). In most cases, the tire shop at least wipes some of the mess off. Upon closer look, I could clearly see large rips in the aluminum face of the wheel and all around the bead. All 4 wheels were ripped up. It took 5 weeks, 2 rental cars and hours upon hours of lost work and finally they had the wheels filled and repainted. They should have just replaced them in the beginning but the manager was a tight wad. Spend the money and go to Discount tires, they stand behind their work, no questions asked!!!

4 new tires for the price of three

I needed 4 tires so I could go skiing the next day. I'd seen Evans on ESPN football the night before so I called. They were in stock for my SUV, they were cheaper than the other guys, there was a location a mile away and they could do it within the hour. I bought them. I even got an alignment in the deal. I'd buy there again
